That is what I penciled in....I figured this year would be $1.5M with gradual raises from there for a 2-3 yr deal.

Good deal for both sides.

Congratulations to Weber for bouncing back strong and earning a solid contract.

Excellent deal for a very solid 3rd pairing Dman, and the contract won't kill us if kids like McNabb, Ruh, Pysyk and McCabe push him down to #7.

Love it.

Good contract for a solid 3rd pair D-man. Just maybe he won't get benched to start the season (for once).

Great cap hit for a good young #5 dman. I guessed a cap hit of 2 per which I would have been happy with so him being at a 1.66 per cap hit is even better.

Hopefully once FA starts we see the Sabres sign either Briere or Lecavalier (or both ) and then get a long term extension with Vanek going.

Awesome deal for both Webs and the Sabres. I could see him wearing an 'A' before that contract ends especially if he keeps playing like he was at the end of the season.

Dont you know Darcy hates captains? Naming Weber captain would mean he is gone in 2 years.

So does this mean a possible Hodgson deal is incoming soon?

Either that or we're prepping to trade off a defenseman.

yup...

what's the rush? they'll get it done after the draft... but if they are in fact trying to make big moves, it would be silly to sign a guy and then trade him.

i dont expect hodgson to be traded or anything... i just dont think it's necessary... they can get a deal in place next week...

and its not just trade... it's the type of contract they want to do... could be affected by who they draft/sign/trade for...

Very true

So does the Weber signing mean a possible Flynn contract incoming then?
