Lol, this can't be true. It's awful for the Ducks and the same exact rumour Panaccio doled out

I see Read signing at about 4 million, maybe 4.5

Christ...no we aren't going to stick a player on our third line just to drive his contract down. What is even the reason of getting him at that point? We have no reason to pay you guys off for Read. You can trade him elsewhere.

I hope Sharks fans realize that Coburn+11th is closer to Hertl+20th than Boyle+20th...

Admittedly Coburn+11th for Ryan is good value wise for the Flyers. However, as much as I like Ryan, I'd much rather invest in that pick, and look to add up front through free agency. I'd be comfortable adding Michael Ryder to inject quick goal-scoring ability rather than giving up what it would take to land Bobby Ryan.

If Ristolainen and Nurse are off the board at 11, though, I'd revise this post.

15. Flyers fans live in constant paranoia over what Philly will do with its young players. Maybe this will help. I've found a few teams that have asked about Couturier over the last year or so. Holmgren refuses to do it, with one possible exception. I'm not including it because I can't prove it, but if true, it would have brought a strong (and young) return.
Guess this is kinda what he was referencing.

I don't think so. Bob would've traded him already if this is the type of return that is acceptable to him.

I'm sure Holmgren is all over this, but Murray won't budge.

I wasnt hoping/trying/willing to trade him. Was merely discussing his next contract scaring lots of people here. "We like him but he will be too costly for us?" I dont get it. To me it says you know he is gonna get a little better as opposed to the throw-in type.

Again, not discussing the multiple trade demands/offers around Ryan. 4 mil. if he improves but 3 mil. still my number.

I kknow that's a pretty good deal, but with Selanne possibly retiring, or at the very least, close to it, with another few veterans getting up there in age, why trade away a 30-40goal player?

Wouldn't guarantee it, lots of question marks around Philli next year. Don't pull a Toronto and lose a high pick on Offense when D and Goaltending are clearly bigger issues.

The reason Ryan may be traded is because we won't be able to afford to keep him past next season due to the Getzlaf and Perry extensions. We still have 2 years before that happens though and we could definitely use his offense next year as we don't know how good Palmieri/Etem/Maroon/whoever will be in top 6 roles.

Murray isn't going to trade him for the sake of it though - it will need to be a hockey trade where the return can help us immediately.

Lol okay... So his value went from a Schenn + Couts to 1st and Coburn.

The Ducks just signed Lovejoy to an extension, so now we have:
Fowler
Beauchemin
Souray
Sbisa
Allen
Lovejoy

All signed. Plus the club is very high on Vatanen and Lindholm. A defenseman would be going back the other way. Add that to the fact that the value would have been snatched up instantly by another team, and yeah, you can call this BS.

If Philly trades their first, or Coburn, it's gonna involve a pretty good D or D prospect coming back. This rumor makes no sense.

I dont think they can trade him. Look at their bottom 3: Souray, Lovejoy and Allen. Yikes.

And our bottom 3 is bad?

Souray was great with Beauchemin all season. Played top 4 minutes entire year too.

Lovejoy was great while he was here.

I will give you Allen, but overall your post was crap.

That is what I was thinking. Don't you guys also have a couple young guys close to making the jump form the AHL like Vaatanen and Lindholm?

Yes. I am okay with adding Sbisa but not for a package involving Coburn and 1st. Murray isn't that stupid. He better not be anyway.

Obviously we would have to add something. What would it take?

I love you too. Guy was wondering about getting Sbisa. You cant go for that type of a deal with Souray, Allen and Lovejoy 3-4-5.

Ducks were completely fine with that last year. Needs an upgrade but not near as bad as you are implying. Sbisa was worse than both Souray and Lovejoy IMO.

Exactly. Needs an upgrade. Philly is not getting Sbisa since no upgrade available from their roster. Coburn is not an upgrade over Sbisa. He is over the other 3 though. Just sayin.
