An estimated 2 million people showed, more than the 2010 parade/rally.

Chicago is certainly full of people in Hawks jerseys today.

I can't post it on here, but everyone needs to watch Corey Crawford's speech on youtube. Classic.

Just noticed the Blackhawks official website video of the rally edits out Corey's speech after he gets the belt. That's no fun.

Their mic'd up footage of Toews's ride through the parade is pretty cool though. Love the honking water taxi when they go over the bridge.

WGN news said 2 million showed up in 2012 and they expected more today because the weather was better. Is that true?

They estimated 2 million in 2010...this year they are saying at least the same as 2010 and probably more.

I was at the parade today, I'm glad I went. I had to piss the entire time, and I got a hell of a sunburn which I doubt I will regret tomorrow morning.

2 million is what we're told despite the undeniable amount of bandwagon 'fans'. The weather today was definitely much better than what it was in 2010. It was a hot day, but even hotter 4 years ago.

There was a lot of "Detriot sucks" being yelled and the obligatory annoying person yelling "Chicago Stronger". There was one guy wearing a black Bruins shirt which ensued someone to yell "I'm Shipping Up To Boston"...that was pretty funny at the time.

I recorded a decent amount of video on my phone, but I'm pretty short and the view wasn't amazing. There were about 3-4 rows of people in front of me in view of the motorcade. Then we moved to the field where they had the stage/podium and an army of red was already ahead of us.

We are "Chicago Proud" now.

3 years ago way soooo much hotter. I'll never forget the Salv Army truck rolling down Michigan throwing water bottles trying to keep people from passing out.

And yes, it was 3 years ago. I'm 23 today, I was 20 then. 4 seasons, but 3 actual years.

whatever

it was nice they had some 24 packs of Dasani laying around. It would be nice if they sprayed more water on us. The people at Buckingham were smart.

It's on Hockey Streams if you have an account. I had to watch it because we left the rally at 8:20am when we realized we wouldn't be able to see the short stage and when we watched it at the bar the sound was abysmal.

Don't people understand that "Boston Strong" has nothing to do with hockey?

I'm pretty sure they do understand, they just want to be attention ******

I'm not sure if this Toronto guy had a clue though..

edit: is it just me, or does Stan Bowman have the most mundane voice when he talks? I don't doubt his enthusiasm, but he sounds so dull.

Personally I thought the Blackhawks behavior....particularly Crawford of course, was an embarrassment. I don't have an ounce of respect for the drunken fool swearing like that in front of 2 million people. Not one bit of class.

OK you said the "Blackhawks" behavior...please do tell what other Hawks player besides Crawford did anything that may have been an embarrassment.

And shame on you Crawford, for being over-excited for silencing your critics and winning a Stanley Cup.

He practices hockey, not public relations. I agree, it isn't professional, but I'm not bothered and I don't think anyone should be. Some people are going to act like this is the first time an athlete, hockey player has ever dropped the F-bomb in public.

Great looking clips. Congrats to the Blackhawks. The Finals were incredible and the Parade looked awesome as well. Well done

What shocked me was how fast the buses went by. I seem to remember them crawling by in 2010, but this year you hardly even got to see them.

They had warned of this in the news reports prior to the parade, FWIW.

Not sure if it was security concerns or timeliness concerns or wanting to funnel more people to the park as opposed to outside downtown businesses but it did take something away from the celebration IMO that it didn't really feel that much like a parade.

Glad they did the rally outdoors. It was disappointing that the Kings did theirs inside the arena.

Yup. AEG has this super anal thing about large crowd gatherings outside of the arena at LA Live...probably precautionary due to Lakers' "fans" acting like morons in past championship celebrations.

They showed a clip on CNN and said 40 people were taken by ambulance for heat related issues. Anyone heard about that?
