#11

That would be insane value to a team. I don't know if Matt Read would be involved in this.

I have no clue what Holmgren is doing.
How about this instead:

Oilers:
Couturier
stud #1 dman

Flyers:
Nick Schultz

Third team:
Gagner
7th overall
11th overall

That would be insane value for a team, and like you I completely ignore the value for another team.

Our team is built on youth right now. Miller is a great goalie, but were not looking to get older.
You clearly don't watch Sekera play. He's a top 4 dman with a ton of upside.

I wouldn't even consider Miller great. No thanks.

I do watch Sekera play. And while a 6th defenseman might have been a bit of an exaggeration, I don't see "a ton of upside" in him. He's not going to fix our defense. At all.

A lot of people with nothing better to do on a Friday night than rip Flyers fans for supporting their team through thick and thin whilst their GM makes moves regardless of their success. How about you great fans relax a little bit considering nothing has happened.

I put him on par with Coburn. A guy that could play in the top pairing to complement a stud dman..but a solid second pairing guy.

Other than shedding salary I don't see why the Flyers would want to give up Coburn. You're right...Sekera won't fix the Flyers defense. Neither will trading Coburn.

Sekera is a 6th defenseman?

Sekera could play on your top pair.

Bruno Gervais "could" play there also, it doesnt mean he would be any good. Sekera is a good #4 shutdown defensemen, saying he has "upside" at this stage of his career is retarded. He is what he is, not like hes some 20 year old with room to grow.

Furthur proof this guy is just a tool and a fanboy. Hes just putting all these teams out there meanwhile earlier today theyve all been brought up by multiple insiders. I could of told you this and I dont claim to have a "source".
Hey man looks like we're just trying to move up or offer something to St. Louis for Pietrangelo before we offer-sheet him.

Just kidding Blues fans.

It must be fun that Holmgren gets to play a real life version of NHL 14 every year, and this coming from a Flyers fan.
I know we haven't won a Cup but you're a Flyers fan who doesn't think we've won consistently like those teams?

Pit and Chi had numerous DNQ for a long time. Thats the better indicator of an upcoming cup. 9 out of 10 for Chicago from 97 to 07.

Number of trades/signings is not a success indicator. Quality is. Look at Boston with Chara, Rask

Great drafting is another one. Boston and Detroit right there did extra good with average selections.

Well, he is a very underrated defenseman. But you're not alone in wanting a better defenseman in a Couturier deal.

How is it news that teams are talking? The draft is one of the busiest times of the year. Too many rumours around the Flyers probably because of the rep that they've established themselves as a 'willing to deal' kind of team. Seems just like people trying to get page views and refreshing twitter feeds and gain followers, all these beat writers are really no better than Eklund.

The fact that you called Sekera a 6th defenseman just proves how uneducated you are on him as a player. Hes top 4 on most NHL teams right now.

Paul Holmgren is the NHL's version of Isaiah Thomas.

Would you honestly take Philly's goaltending situation (no starters) over Vancouver's (two top 10 goalies)?

Oh please. Are you an Islander fan? Do you realize what Milbury did? The Islanders have missed the playoffs 13 times since '92 and haven't won a playoff series since then. Come back once the Flyers hit lows similar to that.

Holmgren might have made some questionable moves but a lot remains to be seen in terms of what the players he has gotten in return become. Trading Richards, Carter, Bobrovsky and JVR aren't even close to what Milbury did and one season without the playoffs isn't even close to the turmoil that may franchises have gone thru.

Bryzgalov/Bobrovsky are probably fireable moves, and if the Flyers miss again Homer will be gone.
