The ONLY thing that causes a parade in Montreal is Vincent L signing with Montreal...end of story...

No other draft pick or player in NHL would cause a parade in Montreal.

VL =parade

Inginla OV,Crosby Malkin Hossa ...no parades, extreme excitment for OV and Crosby Malkin ,but no parades....

So the title to this thread should read:

If the Habs can pull Lecavalier off this weekend, parade in Quebec....

Sign Lecavalier, trade Plekanec/DD/Ginta. MB becomes god in MTL.

So the Habs magically find a way to get Crosby, the best player on the planet, in his prime and Quebec would be all like "meh"

But if we sign a player who was just bought out in the tail end of his career
instead.. Parade.

Sounds legit.

Only parade I'm interested in is winning the Stanley Cup. Not happening this weekend.

I've been planning the parade since I heard we re-signed Blunden.

Wrong thinking? Sorry but I don't count my chickens before they hatch. If they make a good move, I'll be happy, but I won't celebrate like it's 1999.

Bergevin is moving up in this years draft, they drafted Kane and Toews in the top 5 in Chicago, in Montreal they have Galchenyuk, now need a winger that can help as soon as next season, Bergevin and Molson want a cup quick, not in 10 years!!!

Vincent Lecavalier is NOT signing in Montreal.

A parade for vinny? Dude, he's not a 100 pts player anymore. I'd like to get him as much as anybody, but he's not our savior.

And beside, Eklund said that it would go down "this weekend" and as far as I know, nobody can sign VL before July 5th.

This was his site update last night:

Very interesting text from a great source in Montreal. This source is the stuff legends are made of and he rarely ever spills the beans on anything but he will never hesitate to tell me when I am barking up the wrong tree. He just texted me.." I hope you are able to beef up your servers this weekend in Quebec! Things are about to go completely nuts. Can't say any more but if they pull off what they are trying to pull off ...a parade!"

You have chickens?!?

Eklund: Ex GM: "If Habs can pull __ off this weekend, parade in Quebec"
Eklund: Ex GM: "If Habs can pull Lecavalier off this weekend, parade in Quebec" <----Worthy of Parade
Eklund: Ex GM: "If Habs can pull Letang off this weekend, parade in Quebec" <----Worthy of Parade (I hardly see Pitts trading letang in the same Conf)
Eklund: Ex GM: "If Habs can pull 1st pick off this weekend, parade in Quebec" <----Worthy of Parade

I find Lecavalier highly overrated by the media. Same media who underestimated Subban.

Technically, we aren't that much in competition against Pittsburgh with the division re-alignment. We certainly won't be playing them as much as other members of our division.

One of my friends who is the biggest Avs fan I know told me this...
Quote:
Apparently, Desharnais/Beaulieu, a first, second, and third [for the 1st overall pick]. Definitely a rumour, and I'd be surprised if the offer were exactly that, but most likely something similar
He also sent me an interesting article.

One interesting thing to quote from the article was this...
Quote:
I do think the Avs are listening to offers for the No. 1 pick, and something COULD happen. Joe Sakic has said all along a trade was a possibility, but for the last few days he’s said it was “quiet.” Joe isn’t really saying much of anything at the moment – he’s not responding at the moment to calls – which is a big red flare to me that something MAY be going on now.
So what do we think about this people?

Also a bit off topic but...

Makes too much sense that we're trying to use all of our draft picks to move into #1-#3.

What are we going to do with 6 picks in top 3 rounds? We already have some pretty good prospect depth. It's a waste.

Makes no sense?
I fail to see how having to many quality prospects is a "waste".

Also Cbj have what? 3 picks in the first round?
Im sure they would top an offer that includes our first and 2 seconds for the 1-3 overall spot.
