Well, Glendale just decided to bankrupt itself tonight. Completely inept and nonsensical civic leadership.

RIP Glendale, Arizona.

Thankfully, it isn't my money going towards the Coyotes.

Hope the citizen's are able to put out their own fires and arrest their own criminals.

I wonder which city Horton is visiting?

UFA Nathan Horton will be visiting one city during the 48-hour negotiating window. Maybe two if time permits.

Pretty much my response while I was watching. "We need 31 police offers to meet standard, but dammit we'll have a hockey team instead"

Also their council members had no idea what the **** they were doing half the time.

Penguins re-sign Pascal Dupuis (4 years, $3.75M) . Maybe a year long (he's 34), but a pretty good contract and fit there for both sides.

Some big contract extensions likely on the horizon,

Quote:
Pierre LeBrun ‏@Real_ESPNLeBrun 9m

Bruins and Bergeron are close but still not done. Once it is, I'd expect the deal to be 8 yrs and between $52 M and $54 M.
Quote:
Spector's Hockey ‏@SpectorsHockey 2m

It's rumored Tuukka Rask's new contract will be 8 years and $56 million. Try not to faint, #Bruins fans.

I'm normally not okay with longer term contracts, but I feel those two deserve it. Especially Bergeron.

Rask is looking to be the best goalie of his age group, although Schneider may fight that.
Rinne was one of the best of his and got a similar big money contract but is slowly regressing.
Be interesting to see how things turn out in the end.

LeBrun tweets Horton may have interest in Columbus.

No one with the Jackets nor with his camp will confirm this, but I believe Nathan Horton's site visit today was in Columbus...

Do we pick him up? 20 goal scorer, 3MM this year. I would, the guy's got skill.

Wait, what?

For a decent price he's actually a very solid player, I'd love to get him.

It's a real head scratcher for sure. Like I said, we'd be dumb not to pick him up (barring info we don't know, and if he makes it to us)

Tomorrow might actually be interesting!

If we didn't have Jokinen taking up a spot I'd say we should either claim Grabovski or attempt to sign him to a more logical contract tomorrow. Can he play wing?

Also Hedberg on waivers, Pick up moose to play 1 last season at home? Or attempt to find a longer term backup solution?

Grabovski would be a good piece at the right price. Probably lot's of competition for his services though.

I'd love to get him as back-up. He's one of the best back-up goalies in the league, IMO.

Grabovski was slightly overpayed for sure, but it was slight and as far as I knew Toronto wasn't pushed into a bad cap situation. Really odd move for them.

horrawful regular season, excellent playoff play. dude's matured a lot in a few years.

i live in toronto and hate the leafs. but i'd pick up Grabovski in a heartbeat - at the right price.
and then amnesty Ollie.
