Boston-Ottawa

Boston trades:
Tyler Seguin

Ottawa trades:
Kyle Turris
17th overall
Da Costa

Kyle Turris is a good player but Seguin imo has a lot more potential and more skilled.

I think the Bruins want a winger don't they? Maybe they'd be more interested in Silfverberg. In any case, I'm not on the Seguin train but carry on.

I'm pretty sure Boston wants high draft picks top prospects since the only reason then would trade him is for to meet the salary cap.

Boston would be crazy to move seguin, let alone for that package.

What would Peverly cost realistically?

I would not do that trade in Ottawa's perspective.

3rd or 4th rounder. No need to move him if Horton is going elsewhere. If the Bruins sign another winger then maybe 4th or 5th rounder.

I don't see it. I think I'd rather have Turris right now.

Uhm, well this is shocking to me.

I don't think I'd move all that for Seguin.

You and I both... What we're giving away and Boston adding this package, they'd destroy everyone.

Or at least different. Don't think they replace him with a player that is similar to Seguin but not as good even though he is cheaper.

If we should go down that road I would rather have Silfverberg (doubt the Sens let him go) or Zibanejad (could be a great fit for Boston).

I'd do the original offer as a sens fan.

I would think Sens have to start with either Zib or Silfverberg and add from there to get Seguin.

Potential 50-60 point second line center. He's kind of a Spezza-lite. Makes some amazing passes you'd never thought would go through, has terrific vision. His best traits are probably his vision, passing, puckhandling and playmaking. His shot is pretty good too. He always makes things happen when he's on the ice.

Hasn't had much of an opportunity in Ottawa because we have so many centers right now and he's best suited on the top-two lines getting PP time then in the bottom six not getting PP time. He's behind Spezza and Turris in that department...

I think he can break out if given the chance with another team. Only his defensive game would need some polishing.

Some see 2nd line Potential.

Personally, I see none of that. He doesn't skate hard, and looks lazy most of the time. Plays a bit like Spezza, but with 40% the skill.
I'm obviously not high on him, but he's a C prospect regardless.

There's nothing special in that package to convince me to want to trade Seguin.

It's because Seguin being available and wanting/having to trade Seguin are two different things.

These proposals are based on "wanting/having to trade Seguin", which is not the case.

How is this a bad proposal?
Turris is a former 3rd overall pick, he's a great two-way player and he led the Sens in goals both in the regular season and in the playoffs. He's also signed to a great contract.

He's no Seguin yet, granted. But that's where the 17th comes in. And Turris still has the ability to live up to his 3rd overall billing.
