Rangers have approx $15M in cap space to sign Kreider, Brassard, Zuccarello, JMoore and add a couple of forwards plus seventh D.
Figure $4M for Brassard, $2.5 for Kreider, Moore at $1.5M and that leaves you $7M to sign Zuccarello and fit two more forwards. Have to think Kostka is penciled in as the 7th D for now. Unless someone gets dealt, I think the Rangers are looking at praying some kids can make the jump.
Had I said the Rangers should sign Dan Boyle and Tanner Glass on the first day of free agency period, prior to it happening I would have been taken out back of the proverbial wood shed and beaten on these boards.
Someone said we traded possession for PP firepower, well no not really because Dan Boyle may or may not make the PP better.
Stralman made the defense better, we already know that from experience. I'm not saying they would have signed Stralman anyway, but you can't look at this as a swap because right now whether or not Boyle makes the PP better is still a question mark. One that I am not exactly getting my hopes up for.
