He's supposed to be trying to improve the hockey club. Both for now and the future.

Thus far, he is content to stick with the same roster. While other clubs, in our division, are improving.

LOL.
Career .927 save percentage and just turned 27. I think the Devils did just fine. They nabbed a top goalie

Sometimes.

Remember how mad Holmgren was when Sanguinetti got picked ahead of him?

This is an offseason mantra around here, people crapping themselves because of Schneider to NJ, last year it was Sutter to the Pens.

It's not really that. The Rangers finally have depth to move for talent, and all is quiet.

With that said, it's a long off-season. I would have loved to have a first rder today though.

Who says he isn't? Because he didn't trade up to get the player you wanted?

Yeah I like Wennberg. Try him a Center, if not he's still a heck of an option at Wing.

Yet he's never played more than 40 games. So how can you possibly know his "career .927 save percentage" is going to hold up over a full season?

Plus he's going to a much, much worse team than Vancouver. I know you're a homer, but let's be reality. He's a solid goalie. Not a star player.

It is that though, people freak when there isn't a move a minute after the draft starts or a minute after free agency starts. The first round isn't over, I don't see them going for one but who knows.

Most important though is what you said, it's a long off season.

Isles pick should be interesting. Fucale perhaps. Could see Shinkurak or Pulock.

Fish next. They stockpiled defensemen last year. No idea who they go for. Winger maybe?

Over the years I've come to believe that top-10 picks are really overrated.

Unless you're picking top-3 or top-5 over several years. 5-10 is good but still a huge crapshoot. If you can get a top-10/15 goalie for #9, I think you have to do it.

As opposed to possibly knowing that an 18 year old kid is going to be an impact player? I'd place my chips on Schneider.
