I honestly am OK with this. Lindholm and Rakell were WTF picks but are turning out pretty nicely. Only time will tell.

I dont get it, I really dont. You take a player way off the board yet you couldn't trade back ten picks and pick up another 2nd or 3rd rounder and still take the guy you want.
The players form 25-45 are all very similar and in my opinion worth taking 2 of those instead of one #26.

Because we aren't the only team with a good scouting staff.

Off the board but Dano is going to be a great player. Really impressed me at the WJC.

Haha, nailed Dano to Columbus. However, had it happened in 2nd round and thought he was a defenseman...

Looks like a good pick.

Gotta wait for a couple years to be able to find out.

Like a previous poster said, big physical defence are alot easier to find then highly skilled ones.

Early info on Theodore is he's very offense-oriented. Great skater. Needs work on the defensive side though. Risk-reward guy.
:/ hmm

Also, his name is bad ass.
Seems a bit of a late riser, too.

Except this ignores the fact that it takes 2 teams to make a trade. Unless you know for sure a team was wanting to pay a good price to trade up.

I am guessing they could not trade back in the draft. Also, it is a lot harder find scoring D-Men in trade or FA than Defensive D-men, so I am okay with this pick. It may also be that Vatanen is in play and this gives us someone that can potentially fill the role in a few years.
