I'd rather roll with one of our prospects than Bozak. Bozak sucks. Please trust me on this one.

I think three things need to happen to make us a potential playoff team.

1) We need a top-6 forward (preferrably a 1b type player, like Mr. Weiss himself)
2) We need rid of one of our defensive liabilities (Jovo or Kuba)
3) Markstrom needs to play like the star he is bound to be

Hey, Pierre...

Are any of these guys just gonna require some time?

Idk, there's still some short ones left.

Big goalies are too mainstream.

If I were forced to choose one area of concern, above all, it would be goaltending. There is no safety net behind Markstrom. Tallon nees to bring in a goalie who won't threaten Markstrom longterm, but will in the shorterm.

I'm looking at you, Nabby.

Bottom line, in free agency you overpay. Bickell is going to cash in big, no doubt about it.

I love the optimism in the youth but what's your depth chart at Center look like for this upcoming season? Bjug is ready for the #2 spot? Goc or Matthias is our #1 Center? If not those two who is our #1? Don't say Barkov!

Add a Upshall buyout and I agree all on 3 points.

Agreed. A forward can be worked around or perhaps if we are lucky, solved internally. Those defensive liability issues tend to fix themselves. But for as good as Markstrom seems, it is always worrisome with any goaltender knowing he's the only one and if he's bad you're in trouble.

I think Tallon has more cache in the hockey world than many Panthers fans give him credit for. I think he is shrewd enough to land talent without overpaying.

Why did you have to ask.

Nah, Pierre is cool. He makes up for his annoying side with the creepy info.

I hope you're right, but if Teams B, C, D, E, F and G are giving you 2M more than Team A, it'd be pretty hard to go with team A.

That is very small for the NHL.

I like knowing what a prospect's favorite kind of ice cream is.

Gotta trade Barkov from Tappara to Panthers in NHL13 tomorrow and re-do his ratings

With the 1st pick of the 2nd round, the Florida Panthers select:

Ian McCoshen - USHL

McCoshen is expected to play for Boston College next year along with fellow Panthers prospect Michael Matheson (2012 draft class- 1st rnd)

At 6'2" & 207# he brings the size without sacrificing mobility. He fits the mold of what Dale Tallon is looking for to shore up the Panthers defensive corps.

The Panthers hope to see him paired with his puck moving BC teammate on NHL ice in years to come.

This pick was met with some gnashing of teeth by the teams immediately following.

I called this one a while back...

This was the mod draft from the end of regular season / before playoffs.

So whats your depth chart then? I'd prefer a year for Barkov in the AHL to adapt at least. If he's doing everything right, bring him up and decide before the 9 game marker to keep him up or send him back down.

I really don't think Barkov needs the AHL and Tallon wants him to play next season. I don't want him as the #1 center either though.
