Wonder how that would go over.
You probably have to apologize to Jesse Jackson.

I am a Leafs fan but live in BC. Got to say the Canucks really nailed it with this draft. Horvat, Shinkaruk and did you get Subban? Probably the only fans who hate this draft are Canuck fans (like how much Leaf fans hate the Leafs draft ) Seriously I want to see the Canucks do well and this was a very smart draft IMO

I just read that Bo and Hunter know each other already because of the same agency and they are friends.......sweet that they are future teamates

Man, if we put Shinkaruk-Horvat-Burrows together, we could have a Hunter with a Bo and Arrow. Puns are the best.

why not? he's competing with higgins booth and kassian which are all 3rd liners tweeners. Nichushkin is already capable of playing against man since he played in the KHL last year. He's big and strong and developed which makes him one of the most NHL ready player at the draft.

might i need to remind people that Nichushkin is 6"4? He is the one player available in that position that can make the fastest impact for us.

he can also play in top 9.

GTFO with that russian hate.
A list of players that never even considered playing in Russia; in fact they were they exact opposite. There is a definite difference between the new era if Russians and your list. That isn't meant as an insult, I don't blame young Russians for choosing big money to play at home over toiling in minors or being overtaxed in Canada.

What makes me think that is his size: 6'3 196 lbs. He has the body type of Malkin when he first came into the league. He's more skilled than any winger we have except maybe Daniel. Do you honestly think Higgins and Burrows are a better fit in our top 6? I imagine Nich can make up for defensive lapses and inexperience with his speed. If you always play safe you'll never succeed. Higgins and Burrows aren't even defensively great enough to make up for their almost non existent scoring. Really they have no place in any competitive teams top 6.

Burrows and Higgins are two of our better two way players, contributing on both ends of the ice.

While not likely, if Nichushkin opts to play in Russia, Gillis would've essentially traded Schneider for nothing. Too big of a risk to take on given the situation, and the fact that our prospect pool is already desperately thin.

I think anyone who truly followed this draft and followed this player throughout the year will think this is a really, really good pick.

I choose Horvat 10/10 times over Nichushkin.

There has a theory floating around regarding his skating. About mid season, Horvat changed his skates from CCM to Bauer TotalOnes. At that time, a few people felt his skating vastly improved.

Bo isn't the fastest guy on the ice, but from my last viewing of him, skating really wasn't an issue.
