Really REALLY hope he goes to London...

this kid's face & body has "hunter boot camp" written all over it.

Worse thing he could do is go be "big man on campus" for the next few years.

3 years in London where he'll eat/sleep hockey under the guidance of the Hunter's should be demanded by the habs.

here's hoping the kid makes the right "hockey" choice.

Guys...the people you probably want at 25 will be there at 34. Mike McCarron is basically a 34/36 ranked player.

Look at Seth Jones going @ 4. The three teams above drafted on need. We don't need any more 5' 10" 180 pound forwards. We have enough.

And all I remember was the love for big tough guys who can play hockey. Now that we draft one, nothing but angst and teeth gnashing.
I don't know why people expect clones of Barkov to be available at 25.

Always a risk with this type of pick, but could work out great for the Habs. Would love to see him develop similar to Tinordi, which could mean some growing pains.

What I liked about Bergevin when describing this pick: size, grit, character. Seems like a consistent message, and I like it.

Every first round pick from Trevor Timmins has played in the NHL. So don't write McCarron off.
i really don't believe this is what he invisioned though....he spokeyesterday half jokingly but kinda serious as well about buggin bergevin to move up if a guy they really wanted was there and i highly doubt he was speaking of mccarron.

And Timmins obsession with US born players continues.

In the last decade or so that he's been here, our team has consistently moved sideways. I think it's time to replace him. He's had enough time to prove himself.

Agreed. I trust the CHL route so much more for non-elite talents.

If he goes to the NCAA there's all sorts of drawbacks and not as many benefits. I mean, he's already filled out, now he has to learn to be a professional and learn about the game at another level by playing as much as possible.

LOVE IT. Just the size wins me. I'm always an optimist. We have enough pure scoring talent already. This guy can potentially make Ds piss in their pants trying to retrieve pucks along the boards in their own D zone. That's what we need.

Agreed. Goes to London and you'll see a 2nd line Pwf that could challenge Chara
