We all know, Price is getting old. Anything over 25 is either washed up or overpaid. Glad to have the replacement!

On a more serious note, I might be reading too much into that, but I got the feeling that Fucale did NOT want to be drafted by Montreal. Like, not at all. His reaction, interviews etc. That kid was under some serious shock.

5 years from now, Price/Fucale will be the new Luongo/Schneider.

Good! We'll get a 9th overall for Fucale, then! Any good prospects are projected to go 9th overall in 2018??

Coming from one of the biggest Price fans out there, I think this was an absolute steal of a pick at 36. Unreal potential. It's nice to have another young stud goalie in the organization waiting in the wings, even though Carey is only 25.

And even in a situation where Price is clearly our goalie for the next 10+ years, Fucale will be a fantastic trade piece down the road. And who knows, we may even have a Price/Fucale tandem for years to come.

Seems like a great kid. Bright, well-spoken. A great interview.

Minus the insane Luongo contract.

Fucale had to be selected, no way you pass on this resume. The kid can play and has a tremendous attitude.
Habs did great with this pick. Another first rounder that slipped to the second.

I was so scared that we were going to pick Fucale at 25th but at 36th I'm very happy with it.

Still not sold on the kid but I agree he was definitely the BPA at 36th.

2018? We should be targeting the 2029 draft. According to PK there is another Subban

Agree. I didn't want to draft him at 25th but at 36th I am more than okay with that

Well he fell to us, couldn't really pass that up. And now if Price goes downhill, at least we have some future

Except Bergevin would never be stupid enough to give Price that long of a contract. Anyway it's a good problem to have.

This pick was an absolute steal at #36. If Fucale starts for Team Canada at the WJC and wins a gold medal in either of the next couple years, his value will be even bigger!

Is it just me or does Fucale look a lot smaller than somebody who's 6'1"? By the videos he seems to cover so little of the net. I get it, he's really good. Still looks like a midget in front of his own net.

Could you name some goalies who were starting within 3 years of being drafted?

5 years is still on the low end, and who knows where Price is at the point.

So you think that all those scouts who were saying that he was the best goalie are wrong?
Or do you just think that this is a bad year for goalies?

Seemed pretty unanimous to me.
But again, back in 2003, MAF was first pick, Crawford was 52nd and Howard was 64th.
So as far as we know, you might as well be right.
Let's hope you are wrong.

Among these goalies in LHJMQ, which one is better than Fucale?
Who should have we picked?
There is also Jarry, Comrie, Saros, etc...
You do understand that we needed a goalie in our prospect pool?

Congrats on the pick guys, love what Zach brings to the table night-in night-out in Halifax. Takes a lot of heat on HF mainly because of the team he plays for and the fact that his save percentage isn't 1000. Not much of it is deserved though, you will have a stud in 5 years that can push Carey. Technical sound and cool as a cucumber.. Hey, that sounds familiar

Congrats to Zach... Hopefully with Carey being only 25 we get Fucs for three more junior years.

Great pick at 36. With Tokarski acquired earlier, we now have some decent depth at G position. Knew (and agree) that Gs should not be drafted too early, but could not believe that the number one G would still be available at 36. The offer was simply too good to pass up by MB.

ahhh no sweat bud, ..its always like that in the Q league, even roy was like .825 or something when we drafted him lol

the key with this guy tho what mckenzie and that other dude are saying is mostly the timely saves, the big moment saves, saves that matter most in a game/series

i got no prob with this guy challenging carey in 4 years (im a big carey fan myself), ..in 4 years we will all finally know what kind of goalie carey finally is and the decisions will be made THEN

I was also impressed with how collected and well spoken he was seems like a very intelligent young man...He will hopefully light a fire under prices ass!!! BTW loved his fathers expression when we drafted him that was great!

I think he is just a serious, smart kid. Comes across like that. Not the type to flip out and celebrate. His family sure looked happy.
