I'm a 'Glasses Half Full' kinda guy and hope this pick works out for the Habs. What I'd really like to know though is, does anyone think Crisp will be better than Stefan Fournier? I haven't seen either of them play but they sound like the same style of player and Fournier has a much larger body of work. My thinking is that they sign Fournier and draft a different skilled guy with this pick.

It's the 71st pick people, calm down. If he ends up having a Prust like career we'll jump in joy, and he probably can.

EDIT : We actualy drafted a guy who can play hockey and fight, and we're having a nervous breakdown about it?

He has the name necessary to make it at least. NHL.com could probably come up with a few "Crisp" puns.

He's the only WTF pick of our draft for me. The other picks are fine to be honest. I'm just really intrigued as of why we picked this guy over Hayden and why in the third round. I just hope he surprises us. We'll have to wait and see.

It really has been that long since we had a tough to play against hockey team.

A lot of the posters here have seen nothing but passive hockey from Montreal.

Time for a change!!!

Someone who can throw them like that and score 20+ goals in the OHL... Sure, he was selected high but hey, if he pans out this could be a good pick.

I'm with you. Can we not find some solitude in the fact the new regime is acknowledging a new direction.
Guys? we actually drafted a scrapper.......the mindset alone makes me happy. I hope he turns into something special.

At the very least it sounds like he has a better work ethic than Schultz.

Hey guys, remember when Bergevin told his scouts to reach out for Andrew Shaw a couple years ago? You do? Sure? You remember he went undrafted two times before being drafted?

Right. So shut the hell up and wait a bit.

I just checked his stats and he has pretty much as many goals as (playing on a really bad team) Brady Vail, Tyler Biggs, McDavid, Dickinson...

Not bad for an enforcer who's 6'4'' 220. I think he'll be our next 4th line center.

I'm sure all the guys who want us to draft 5'10 guys who are fast our the loudest complainers for us drafting less skilled players who can be physical.

People just have NO idea of how many players gets into NHL. 50% first round... then it goes to 30% in 2nd round and almost no chances after that.
From those, most players won't be top players.

So complain....because complaining will make you right probably 80% ...

its about time that we drafted some size, anger and grit....

guys like Crisp are going to end up giving more room on the ice for our smaller players....

So he lost an entire season to injury, was drafted high in the OHL, scores 20 goals while playing a heart and soul game, he FIGHTS! What's not to like?

Unlike McCarron, this guy doesn't need boxing lessons. He needs intensive skills training from Sean Skinner...

Well for starters, he would have been available in later rounds. We could have got Duclair here and Crisp way later.

Yeah, he fights.. but he is terrible at it.
His skating is also terrible from what I've heard so far.
Seems like a punching bag to me.

Well i don't know if teams starts calculating if those guys will not be drafted before the 6th round, if you start drafting like that you'll loose more gamble than you will win, you have a list of ranked players, you follow that list, you don't start playing poker. None of us know if he would have been available later.

I don't know about his fighting skills so i wont comment on it. Skating can be improved, it's not a problem for now.
