Tommernes. This will be a big year for him, and if he meets expectations, he could even see call-up duty in the NHL. I think he has the ceiling to be a top 4 defenseman in the NHL, however, he does also have a high potential to bust. Basically, he's the exact same as Hutton, but further along in his development.

(I haven't seen Ericsson play, at all, so I'm just more comfortable putting Tommernes and Hutton at 8 and 9, with Ericsson at 10.)

All I know is that he dominated the SEL, which is really all you need to know given who he's being compared against here.

Ericsson's resume dwarfs anyone else we have in the system so he pretty much has to be ranked here. Is a total wildcard right now, though, will be very interesting to see how he stacks up to Lack at camp, and where Cannata fits in.

After this, the next 5-7 spots are a toss-up. I'll probably vote for Archibald next.

I went with Mallet. A lot of potential there, he just needs to bring it at the AHL and eventually the NHL level. Another year in the ECHL and he's going to drop like a stone though.

I believe that Blomstrand spells his name Blom and not Blon as written in the poll. It means Flower (bloom) Beach (strand), and bloom is spelled blom in Swedish, as in Brian Engblom and so forth. Probably just a typo.

Ah, now I remember the Canucks signing him. Was it ever made clear why the Flyers didn't retain his services?

Went with Hutton after voting mallet last round. I keep flip flopping. Etween those two and Tomerness.

Not sure how we can vote 2 goalies into the top 10. Pretty much zero chance both have a significant impact with the big.club seeing as they'll be competing for the same roster spot. And goalies are a dime a dozen in todays NHL. With that in mind, I can't vote for one as a top 10 prospect, unless they are looking like they'll be a top 5 in the world type talent. Doubt either reaches that level, pretty much guarantee both don't.

Different stripes for different cats and all that, but I'd take a big physical mobile bottom 6 C or a top 4 dman with puck skills as a prospect over a goalie when you can pick a starting calibre netminder up for peanuts anytime you want.
