You can likely expect to see one of Carolina's goalies to Edmonton at some point.

Or maybe a goalie from the 3 headed monster in Washington.

Remember when someone said Dubnyk isn't that far off of Price?

Edmonton better be making another move for a goalie or this is a horrific trade.

Not to mention if you needed to give away Dubnyk why not try and get a dman, their backend is easily their biggest weakness?

I'd like to see Price in Edmonton. Price is the better goalie but you can't rate any goalie behind that terrible team.

I don't get it. Oilers aren't going anywhere and Scrivens is a UFA like Dubnyk this summer, if they really wanted him why not simply wait and keep the 3rd rounder. Now they even pick up the contract of Hendriks of almost 2 million for 3 more seasons

The Oilers are still trying to improve with rinky dink sideways moves without giving away much.

Time to sacrifice some of the abundance of promising youth and acquire established proven talent in nets and on the backend.

does this mean that jones is up for good in LA ?

I think edmonton is going to challenge philly as the place where goalies go to die.

I believe that Martin Jones deserves the back up spot.

Doesn't make much sense for Edmonton but what else is new. Scrivens is about to discover the difference between LA defensive play and EDM. Ouch.

Good move for EDM. What they need more then anything is to be competitive now, which basically means to upgrade (any degree) on all their possible weaknesses.

at least it's a trade that brings an upgrade to the team.... *cough*

They basically traded a 3rd for Hendricks. Scrivens might do better than Dubnyk, but he probably won't improve the Oilers' fortunes dramatically, and both goalies are/were UFAs at the end of the year and likely gone anyway.

They now got a good backup + a guy that can play gritty. Good moves by Edmonton.
