I second this. I'm amazed no one even spent at least a 7th rounder on him.

--------

I'm pretty excited to hear some feedback from camp this year. There's some intriguing prospects in system. I just hope Goulbourne doesn't kill any of the actual prospects during it.

Does anyone know if they're doing the prospect game with the Caps again this year?

I just posted in another thread the same thing. He's small but has crazy skill, I'm surprised no one took a shot on him

Juuso Ikonen went undrafted too. Small Finn, but offensively talented.

Can't sign him due to him playing in Finland. Can attend camp but can't sign.

Ettiene Marcoux likely gets a chance

He was invited to the Flyers training camp this year but due to the lockout, he didn't attend

Really enjoyed watching him play last prospect camp. Arguably was the best defender there.

Side note: clapperton (who scored a hat trick during the prospect game) was drafted by the Panthers. Some wanted him signed but for a small guy and no speed kinda glad we didn't. Knew how to get open to score goals but didn't do anything else.

Avs fan here to tell you Andrew Ryan from the Moosheads has been invited to your camp. Not really a reputable source but the largest hockey school in this province just tweeted that he has been invited. They really have no reason to lie. Andrew used to go the school and I think he still works with kids there during the summer. I'm supposed to be playing some pickup with Ryan this week so I will know for sure then.

Also know he was invited to the Blues rookie camp in September. Doesn't mean much though since prospects go to multiple camps anyway.

Oh your right. Didn't notice the article was from 2012. Passed over twice then. Didn't notice that.

Would have been okay in the AHL? Not sure. There is a bit of dead space on the AHL roster in terms of guys who will be AHLers at best. I guess they did not feel he was worth developing or would have better opportunities elsewhere, wasn't a good fit, etc etc.

Larsson has been confirmed that he is coming over for prospect camp. Kid really wants to play in NA which is good.

Hits people like a truck.

Good news. I hope he makes an impression. I wonder if Vasiliev will come over.

Yea hope so also. Watching Larsson last yea reminding me of Grossmann. I think Larsson goes for the big hits more but is solid defensively and takes the body alot. Will also go down or get in the way of a ton of shots. Not looking bad for a 4th round pick.

Being from Halifax, and being a huge Mooseheads fan, this is excellent news!

What happened with Vasiliev moving to the USHL like he was supposed to?

He still needs to add some weight to his frame to be effective. Hopefully some of these euro players start coming over and start playing for the Phantoms. I'm really not too fond of guys like Cullen Eddy and Hostetter being a part of the orgizational depth. I'm not really a Konan fan and I like Laurdisen but guys like Vasiliev and Larrson are the same players as him but they are mobile. They can actually get around the ice.

Yeh, Larsson is so similar to Lauridsen it is silly... they have almost exactly the same career path and almost identical numbers in points and PIM!

Larsson is nastier though, a bigger hitter and more mobile... but smaller and not as strong. If Larsson bulks up to 210 he could be a #5-6 who people are more scared of going down the ice towards than Kronwall, he gets involved in everything as well, I think from the highlights of J20 games he needs to chill out and be more disciplined at times, hopefully that comes with maturity.

Vasiliev is a great sleeper as well, there has been talk of him sneaking onto the WJC squad as he is such a solid D man.

Not saying they are going to be NHLer's, but I would be very happy if one made it as a #5-6, as they have the attributes and physical presence to be great in that role, and be cheap while doing it.

Speaking of Larsson the CHL Import Draft is going on right now, I wonder if he's got a deal with a team to come over?
