NHL UPDATE - Source - Philadelphia Flyers and St. Louis Blues reportedly in trade talks centered around Sean Couturier and Kevin Shattenkirk
Oh god. If its Pietrangelo I'd be'd happier.

Tough to get rid of Couts.

I'm not taking anything that guy says serious either. They just re-signed Shatty... Also he doesn't have a great track record.

If you want big time news, follow the regulars.

I wouldn't mind shatty for couts, but it doesn't make much sense. Pietrangelo would make a lot of sense here, but I can't see St. Louis trading him, and in afraid of what we'd have to add to couts to get him.

It kind of sounds like a Leed or Eklund rumor...

Pietrangelo isn't signed and the Flyers have too many centers?

Deal involving STL and PHI? That'll get people visiting my page.

That would be such a typical Blues move. Oh, we finally have a dynamic offensive player? Better trade him a away for another defensive-minded forward. I'm not sure the salaries would even work though.

I would do it as a Flyers fan. There's your Kimmo replacement for next year.

I'd do Couturier for Shattenkirk (+ something? idk). Make that deal. Deal Mez for picks or whatever you can get. Coburn to EDM for MPS + picks. Sign a goalie (Thomas? Greiss? Khudobin? Emery? Who cares?). Win mad Cups, yo.

About $5 million in cap space. That is a solid team now and moving forward. I know Couturier is going to win a thousand Selke trophies, but I think I'd rather roll with this.

You could do it, but that leaves Gustafsson without a home.

Blues fan stopping by, we would NOT be adding to Shattenkirk for Couts. If anything the Flyers would need to add something significant. Lets not forget Shattenkirk has outscored Couts from the #3 dman position. He also just signed a very reasonable 4 year deal, if the Blues wanted a center coming back, it would probably be Schenn+

Just giving the opposing teams view of 'Kirks worth.

Also, the only way you guys can get Petro from STL is offer sheet him for 8.5 mil+(4-1st round picks) or get ready to deal Giroux. No one else on your roster even gets a call back for a top 5-7 dman in the NHL. Sorry, thems the bricks.

It won't be Schenn+ because the only way Schenn is moved is in a package with his brother.

Shattenkirk isn't close to worth Schenn+Schenn.

That's starting to get into talk about a package for Pietrangelo.

Expect Emery to sign with Flyers. Expect a 1 yr deal. Strategic move to establish starter role and bigger $$ down the road.
Not bad hope the money is right. Allows us to keep our assets.

I could see it. Not sure what the addition would be. If it was somethign substantial, I would not be as quick to pull the trigger. But if it was like Couturier and Cousins, I'd do it. Couturier + 1st, or Couturier + Laughton or something like that I would not jump.

Correct. And it would make 0 sense why Armstrong would trade him.

And for the last time, Pietrangelo, I 99.99% guarantee, won't be going anywhere next season other than St. Louis.
