thats exactly what I have always wondered too. Will they bring drouin in slower on a different line but play him on all PP's with the big boys? Or team him up with Stamkos from day 1 and move St Louis(cant see it)? See I think he may turn out to be the highest scoring player out of this draft in time, but not next year. Just cause I dont think he will play with stamkos much YET. So I dont think he will be the Calder winner... But quite possibly a complete superstar in NHL in the next few years

If Drouin plays on a line with Stamkos and St. Louis, he's going to put up a lot of points.

Jonathan Drouin. If they put him on a line with Stamkos and St.Louis then I fear for the rest of the league. He could run away with it.

any time there are rookie forwards who put up points they win the Calder, a bias against defencemen.

Drouin will put up gaudy numbers for a rookie, he's the favorite. I think Nichuskin will be up there.

1) Nathan MacKinnon will most likely get #1 PP Time on a MacKinnon-Duchene-Parenteau line
2) Paul Stastny will hopefully be gone by the end of 2013 and RoR will most likely be gone in February. This gives MacKinnon a sure-fire shot at being the #2 center by February if not by December

That being said I think Mac gets it with 70 points.

MacKinnon will get it over Drouin for the same reasons Landeskog got it over RNH. He will hit everything that moves, steal pucks in every zone and have an impact in all 3 zones.

I realize RNH was also hurt.

Drouin may have more points and still lose it since he is one dimensional. Just saying it's possible.

Seriously, you want both Stastny and RoR gone?

Not enought shake head emoticons for that nonsense.

Not that I want it. RoR is 85% gone at the deadline.

Only one from Boston with a "chance" is Krug. I'll go Drouin.

Assuming that is true, Stastny stays

I think Barkov will be given every opportunity by Florida to prove himself, and be used in a lot of key situations. I think he'll be used more this year than some of the others in this draft class cause Florida lacks organizational depth at this point. So I'm gonna say:

Barkov
or
Baertshi

Brett Ritchie had 41 goals and 35 assists for 76 points in 53 games in the OHL. He had 3 goals and 1 assists in 5 games in the AHL. If he starts the season well, he could supplant Ray Whitney as the top right winger on the Stars, where he'll be playing with Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn.

It's Barkov's to lose IMO, b/c he will get every opportunity from Florida given Florida needs some offensive firepower. Barkov will average at least 18 minutes and will play from Day 1.

BTW, is he the youngest player in the league?

LOL. God I hope Shinkaruk makes the NHL (but isn't as good as Poirier/Klimchuck >.>) just for that nickname.

Yea he will probably be the youngest guy in the league. Lack of firepower in FLA might hurt his stock aswell. Drouin has Stamkos and MSL in the same team and probably in same PP. He has most supporting cast and will most likely win the scoring race amongst the rookies if he plays entire season.

Brett Ritchie will be the calder, he already had 4 goals in 5 games in the ahl. Ritchie seems like another jamie benn player. Second rounder developed properly then domiante the nhl

My vote goes to Barkov. I don't know if Drouin will be given enough quality time with Stamkos and St Louis. Barkov will be given every chance to win it imo

1, 1 Canucks fan said those players, and I am assuming it was sarcastic because of the inclusion of Andersson who won't even be in the NHL next year.

But you know, generalizing an entire fanbase is what ignorant people love to do!

Is it possible to get a 35+ contract combined with an ELC? haha
