35 points in 72 AHL games at 21 shows more than being a 23 year old NCAA star.

It's all about fan familiarity with the player, I leave the evaluation to the pros. Until of course they prove they don't know any more than I do (Gainey/Gauthier) .
That's my reasoning as well.

Just when you finally see the light at the end of the tunnel with Danny Kristo..........so looking forward to him next year..........it gets snatched away..........Im pissed.
Was really looking forward to this prospect but hey maybe Im wrong and he just wasn't suited to the managements plan.

the point is about fit , not stats

we need a role player on the bottom 6 or a tough d not another smurf , regardless of skill

deal makes no sense

OK guys, I'm POed cuz I liked Kristo but Thomas and he are pretty much the same size, so quit with the "now we're smurfs again" crapola...

Gallagher is the only small guy you can afford on the top 6 , the only hope for CT is the top 6 as an offsenisve player , what the f r his chances ?

Christ our 4th line stinks , we couldnt get Mashinter with size ?

what about a second like we did with other deals ?

flags absolutely , add something else and get a body who might fill a void , we have Hudon , Collberg , this finish dude we just drafted , what the hell did we get a Thomas for ?
From this discussion I am seeing the opposite. In an introduction to the pro game Kristo struggled and Thomas is at least 1 year closer to the NHL, with a 20 goal campaign under his belt.

I'm concerned about Beaulieu's status in the organization now.

I hope he doesn't get traded, would be a stupid thing to do.

Does this have anything to do with Kristo's contract? Doesn't he have only 1 year basically and then we have to pay him some real money, like 2-2.5M? And maybe Thomas is on entry level for more years?

Dateline 2015.

The Montreal Canadiens, led by Saint Michel Therrien (Coach) and Pope Marc Bergevin (GM), completed a sweep of the New Jersey Devils in the inaugural NHL Church League Saint Stanislaus Cup.

Stats Leaders......

Picking the Other Teams Players Up Off the Ice
David Desharnais -- 14

Turning the Other Cheek
Travis Moen -- 26

Calling Penalty On Yourself
Tomas Plekanec -- 10

"Attaboys" and "Good Shot" to Players On the Other Team
Christian Thomas -- 102

We Got This. Go Habs Go.

I was just reminded by a NHL person that Danny Kristo was someone who did not want to play in Montreal #NHL life goes on

Is that Norman Rumack? If so, he doesn't know an NHL person.

I really don't get this one at all. Had Kristo at least played some games with the Habs...I guess this means he was not in the teams plans anymore. Just boggles the mind.

let me introduce you to the word called : p a t i e n c e.
Like the rest of the clowns on this site you just don't get it.....

Bergevin FEELS that Thomas is a better ASSET which is why he made the trade. If that is too difficult to understand then let me introduce you to the ABC's and finger painting.

Thomas was drafted higher, is two years younger, has an impressive resume, and looked considerably better than Kristo in his first stint in the AHL.......did I mention that he is two years younger?

The Habs have been making strides toward picking up players with the ability to score goals and Christian is definitely a goalscorer. He's also a team player first and foremost the type of player that coaches love to have.

Maybe Danny Kristos ego got ahead of himself and just couldnt put himself through an entire year riding a Hamilton Bulldog bus around.
If that is the case so be it. I just cant explain why all of a sudden management gives up on a player like Kristo.

Meh whatever.

If that is true fine... But why not use him at the draft or trade bait for a physical player that can play now.... Kristo for Clutterbuck and a 2nd from Minny?

let him stay in Minny and we Clutterbuck...or Chicago for Bolland ....timing is curious...could have been used as leverage two days ago??

A take on this trade from highly rated prospect blog Top Shelf Prospects. Should be interested to see how both of these turn out as they are both highly rated prospects.
