Man, what is this with this board lately?

First, TennistheMenace don't even know the existence of PK Subban on our team, then you have clowns like this one ^

I'm sorry but I really can't see how MTL did the wrong move by trading Kristo.

Don't you remember all his stupid off ice antics? Seems like they got rid of a troublemaker to me.

As for Thomas, watched him a couple of times in the AHL last season. You guys should be excited.

Wayyyyy overblown. We all liked Kristo, but it looks like he didn't want to play here. Got a great prospect in return, and we will see them play each other next year in the AHL.

Can we all move on now?

Edit: Have also seen Thomas play a few times this past season, you will notice him when he is on the ice. Great wheels, made me check my stat sheet

Maybe so but when you are watching a player develop in the organization for 5 years and all of a sudden he is ready to contribute...............BAM.........hes gone!!!

Disappoint...........as Michel Therrien would say.

The ugly truth of the matter is the same fans who are calling this an awful trade would be singing the exact same tune if we were trading Thomas to the Rangers for Kristo. The laughable part is that it is impossible for a trade to be terrible for both teams which provides absolute evidence that these posters post solely based on emotion instead of any tangible resemblance of hockey knowledge.

Ranger fans loved Thomas much in the same way that Gallagher was worshipped here as a prospect. I absolutely prefer Thomas and I think most of those people that are bawling right now will feel the same way in time.

Kristo never got a chance to prove himself in Montreal so find it weird. Adding that they made themselves smaller this is a weird move for the Habs all around.

The biggest issue is not Kristo.

The issue is that this trade does zero for the season that starts in a few months. Trading a pawn for a pawn is useless. We could have used that pawn to add to another piece to get a piece that we are missing on the team right now.

Bergevin sucks at chess.

What evidence do we have that Kristo didn't want to play here? He could've used the loophole, he could have not signed with us at all..

I think that Bergevin just traded Kristo at his highest value. Always a sound business practice!

Kristo reminds me of Josef Balej both as a prospect and their overblown worth by fanboys on this site.

There's a reason why it took him 5 years to develop. Things weren't working out. He's a bust.

if krysto didnt want to play for us then good riddance. i dont really know anything about thomas but statiscally speaking he has pretty similar ahl numbers to gallagher. if hes gritty and knows how fight(or at least take care of himself) ill be happy with this trade, domi wasnt big either . but yea he really needs to put on some more weight lol

So, you'd take size over talent?

We just drafted McCaron and De la Rose. What's wrong with adding talent and character ? Kristo is small too. You need many pieces for a team to excell.

Would you be against using Kristo as an add on in a trade to get a crease clearing DMan who is playing in the NHL right now? For all we know, every single NHL GM probably thought Kristo is a prospect with good upside.

Is that emotional or is it a good way to manage assets?

Cant believe this board is going nuts over career ahl'ers.

I thought the loophole closed before he could be in a position to use it.

Didn't you overlook the possibility of using Thomas in the same fashion? Anyway, Thomas is younger and lives cleaner than Kristo. Besides, he's said to have a very good shot that could be useful to the Habs.

9 games, in the middle of the season, under the esteemed guidiance of Lefbreve... At least Kristo has a shot at the NHL now, unlike Leblanc. Something is very worng with this trade.

Dominating, and even that is a big word, the NCAA at 23 is not a great feat. Just imagine pk last year in the NCAA, or even Lars Eller. What would it have looked like? Serious work ethics and flawed character seemed part of his pedigree. Having skills doesn't make you a pro. It's what comes after that does. Kristo is one of those internet legends that grow on websites like this one. Josef Balej anyone?
