Because of what? A rumor and the trade of a failed prospect? Some people in here are depressing.

Oh...I will not even comment on just the possibility to bring Brière here. I'm done with québécois UFA's players.

I like Brière. I think he's a better player than Lecavalier.

Well, all we know is we supposedly had some interest before and that Lebrun thinks we may try for him now that Lecavalier is gone. I like Lebrun, but that is just speculation.

Not sure he's what we need, but the guy is a playoffs monster. And that cannot be said about many of our forwards.

On draft day, Martin McGuire said that he thought that Habs were more interested in Briere than in Lecavalier.

Do they even have an organizational philosophy?

All this stuff about drafting for need, drafting to get bigger, we need to address size and then they put more effort and interest into Briere than Lecavalier?

Sounds so bipolar.

The thing about Briere is (and I say this as a guy who wants a bigger, more physical team) unlike Lecavalier you could nab him now for less and maybe even just two years. I want to get bigger and more physical, too. But I can understand giving him some consideration. Briere may still be able to step up in the playoffs for cheap. And he doesn't affect your long term plans. We need size up front though, and I think Briere would be more effective for the Bruins.

If true, Plekanec, Briere, DD, Gallagher and Gionta. We gonna be tough to play against!

Brière is going to take Horton's place on the Bruins lineup, book it. Both are clutch but Brière will sign for less.

Because Holmgren thinks he's playing an NHL game.

I'd try to bring Koivu back before I want Brière.

I am assuming that this is just more unfounded media nonsense. What MB did at the Draft clearly showed concern at the size and toughness of the team, to go after Briere would not make any sense. Briere is 35 and in declining production ( yes yes play-off guy ) and clearly MB didn't go hard at the 33 year old declining production 6 foot 4 great at face-offs Vinny, so that wouldn't make any sense either.
