Looks like the plane landed at least 1000 feet short of where it should have.

It's amazing that can happen with a plane that can essentially land itself.

Big time aviation fan here...

The 777 is the safest plane out there...over 1,400 built and sold and only 2 crashes in the 23 years it has been in service. Both of them being short of the runway (2007 at Heathrow and today).

No deaths ever recorded flying this plane. Hope it stays that way.

And they look so similar I'm wondering if the cause of the accident is the same.

The BA cause is still disputed...maybe this one may shed some light.
