I'm guessing 2 years @ 1.8 per year.

Subban is a Norris caliber D man and Del Zotto is a top 2 D man on his team which leads me to believe Leddy's deal is 2 @ $1.5M to $1.75M per season...he is currently a bottom pairing D man, if this deal north of $1.75M per season Bowman is worse than Tallon when it comes to signing players...

2 years/2.8 million per from what I heard. Probably not worth much but just what I was told.

#5 when everyone is healthy, actually.

Anton Stralman outplayed him this year. Too many Natty Lights, I guess.

OT, but I never realized how much this fit Michael.

On Chicago - Subban is #3/4 and Del Zotto is number 4-5

Norris *caliber means nothing it's one year short season. And a short one.

Overrating big time

Don't be silly, Subban is better than Keith and Seabrook. He might play behind them due to their chemistry but he would still be better.

He'd be the number one Dman on the PP, and probably get the most points as a result. Keith would play in the most important defensive situations and get about 5 more minutes of ice time per game. Seabrook would be #3, but who knows what the pairings would look like.

On topic: the Del Zotto and Subban contracts are comparible, but people have to remember that the numbers misrepresent the amount of money the player actually received due to the lockout shortened season.

Subban is definitely not better than Duncan Keith.

Well, he's not definitely better, but he's also not definitely not better.

I did jump the gun, but Subban is in that class, I just thought it was bonkers that a previous poster said he would be a #4 dman on the Blackhawks.

Keith just got done with a postseason in which he was the best defenseman in the playoffs. He is much more of an accomplished shutdown presence than Subban is and has proven that numerous times.

If you want offense, you (obviously) take PK, but that's not what we're talking about.

Subban definitely wouldn't be a #4 on Chicago, that's ridiculous - I agree. He'd be their second-best defenseman, and that's no slight to him. It's much more of a compliment to Keith, who many don't appreciate for how good he really is.

Keith has a Norris, two playoff runs as the best playoff defender that helped prevail his team to Cups, shutdown capabilities, and has the second most points of all defenseman in the NHL the last five years. The guy is a stud. He is better and more proven than PKS.

As for the signing, Leddy for two years and hopefully for a $2.1 million AAV or less would be a steal.

Duncan Keith is a great defenseman and has the ability to elevate his game when the pressure is the highest. Did Subban elevate his game against Ottawa?

Prepare to be disappointed. There is no way he's getting less than 2M/year. NO WAY.
