Boston's Goaltending Depth...

With Toivonen chomping at the bit to get into the NHL, Raycroft having an outstanding season and a good prospects in Sigalet, who is going to be leaving the Bruins and for what price?

Trading Raycroft to make room for some rookie (even a great young talent) would be a Milbury-esque move. The B's should stick with Raycroft, and bring the youngsters along slowly. Then, if one shines, they can make a move later on.

Go with a Moog/Lemelin thing for a couple years, while Hannu's still on his rookie contract, then when we can't afford both, keep the best one and trade the other.

I'm hoping that with smaller pads and the stupid new proposed "more offense" rules, that the goalie trading market goes way up.

I really fail to see why there's such a need to have to deal one of Raycroft/Toivonen right now. As far as I can see, it's better to keep them both and play them as a tandem for a while, rather than putting all the eggs into one basket by trading one or the other.

Awards:
Raycroft has been solid. I like him alot.

Hannu has the potential to be a top 3 in the league 2or 3 years from now.

It's a great problem to have and one the Bruins haven't had since they had 2 kids named Cheevers and Parent. Worked out pretty good for both clubs. Although we didn't get diddley from the Flyers because it was an expansion draft.

Anyway I see them sharing next year with Racroft playing about 50 games and Hannu about 30 . After that the brass will have a better gauge on what's what.

Sigalet has a lot of promise too. He'll get a chance in Providence. Hopefully his courageous battle with Mutiple Sclerosis will go well. He has a ton of character as well as a team leader.

A good example to take this from is the Rangers (haven't heard that one in awhile) as stated from someone above they should do what the Rag$ did what Mike Richter and John Vanbiesbrouck.

I don't think it is the same at all. By the time the Ranger$ lost Beezer in the expansion draft (by way of trade to VCR first) Richter was already well established.
