I'm considering attending one of the sessions.

How early should I get there?

Last year the seating was full but you could find a seat even if you came right at the start of the practice.

I went to three sessions last year. Most of the drills were skill related (passing, shooting, puck handling), some 1 on 1's and 2 on 1's. Friday is a scrimmage but just 2 on 2 and 3 on 3.

going as many days as I can fit in - I like watching drills

hopefully they have a blueline-blueline 3 on 3 scrimmage at some point - it's usually good stuff

I assume the list handed out at the camp will be in alphabetical order so made one in numerical order for easier reference

Interesting to see that almost all the invites are NCAAers.

When the Penticton young stars tournament rolls around in September they'll have to make a whole batch of new invites as all the NCAAers won't be allowed to attend. I would have thought the guys they had earmarked for that would also get invites to this camp.

The guys I'm most interested in seeing are the Euros like Ronalds Kenins and Marcus Karlstrom, as the viewing for them has been very limited and I'd like to see how they stand up next to our prospects.

Karlstrom for sure yeah, that pick kinda came out of left field so it'll be cool to see how he stacks up.

I'll probably try to get by for a day this week, not sure which though, Friday I'm sure will be packed so I might just go an earlier day to watch drills like I did last year.

I am always curious watching a camp UFAs.

The idea of finding a kid worthy of a ELC is very appealing, but the abundance of NCAA kids makes it unlikely this year. Do we know if any of these kids are planning on moving away from school? Sikura, Czarnik and Johnstone have been pretty solid contributors to their respective teams.

I'm really interested in a few things here:

- Olkinoura, we need to see how he will contribute to the org. HF ticker has him ranked 10th prospect. I like the fact that we got a young UFA for nothing, and he will challenge Pasquale.

- How our RW prospects are developing. We really could use one to step up into a 3rd or 2nd line NHL role. We don't have much depth at that position, and our middle 6 consists of 2 guys with 1 year left on their contract. It's a crapshoot to expect one of them to be a middle 6 RW in 14/15, but boy that would be nice.

- I'm also wondering if Petan may switch to wing, which is common with smaller players. They may try him at LW in camp at some point.

- I expect Trouba and Scheifele to dominate. I also expect them to harass each other a bit, maybe we'll see some fireworks? Interested in Scheifeles size and skating. I think he's ready. This should be their last prospect camp.

Even though other players have graduated out of prospect camp such as Redmond, Postma, O'Dell, Klingberg, etc.. I find this list of prospects to be very exciting. Chevy really hit a home run at the draft this year. We could've very easily picked up 3-4 NHLers this year. Good ones too.

Looks like Trouba on the right to me, I think the one with his arms around might be Scheifele.

Edit - Well upon looking at it again off of twitter I am far less convinced that I'm right about those haha.

I think it's fantastic that Evander Kane is there to help mentor the young ones. Guy is growing into a leadership role. Dude didn't have to be here, but there he is, out on the ice running drills. I hope Noel makes him an Assistant Captain this year.

No, not today anyway; borrowed the pic from the Jets instagram page.
