If no, same question if Pavs wants to explore his options in FA, but doesn't rule out a return to the Sharks.

Barely made it before the edit showed up. Props.

Anyway, if you like what Brent Burns did this season, you'd love what Valeri Nichushkin could do next season. You put Burns back at D and slide Nichu into Burns' RW spot on JT's wing. I'd trade Pavs for the pick in a heartbeat.

Also, DW should get right on trading for Seguin this very moment.

I guess maybe better questions to start off with are:

Is Pavelski worth the 5th pick to the Sharks? Is the 5th pick worth Pavelski to the Canes?

If not, what would be the value there? And then, based on that value, would you pull the trigger?

Depends on who is available?

Seems like Pavs fits the need of a player that can step in right away and maybe develop chemistry with Skinner and improve their team all-around.

pavs is one of my favorite players, but we wasted a year with him on jumbos wing. so id rather not trade him this off season and see what we have in hertl. he will still hold value next offseason.

Pavelski? He'll be a UFA next season and have no value at all. And he's not worth the 5th overall pick, before any of you gets any bright ideas and tries to take it to the trade forums. I've had two debacles in two days over there, and both times I've had to report my own post to get a mod to close them.

i think because seguin barely did anything there is a notion that DW can get him on the cheap...unlikely, but whatever.

He hasn't really met his expectations and didn't have a good playoffs scoring wise.

Seguin for Havlat+Burish+Stuart

AKA a highly talented #19 centermen who didnt preform in the playoffs for a highly skilled top 6 winger with injury problems, a 4th line forward and Brad Staurt

I'd trade Pavelski for the 5th, no problem, but the canes would be crazy to. Pavs is a good talent, but the #5 has so much more upside, and will be under team control for years.

As a side note, I'd rather not trade Pavelski for Monahan...

A perfect Shark target!

Is there any hint he would actually be dealt, or is it just people being hopeful?

While I agree with this, the report I read said the Canes want a player that can contribute now.

First of all, awesome

If Havlat goes LTIR we have 5 million more to spend. I could see Stalberg coming here, and I could see the Sharks acquiring an overpaid player on the cheap via trade. Any of our 3 lines would benefit from having Stalberg (replaces Galiardi, Havlat's empty spot, Wingels). It would also give our 2nd PP unit a little kick in the ass. Also, keep Havlat so when he regains his health near the end of the year we can just plug him into the lineup.

You, me, and probably everyone on this board, but you are not (assuming) DW , and do not have a crazy affection for 67s, and a complete, unexplainable, and undying hatred for (assuming again) Russians.
