I can't be sure, but I think Brent Burns might be sticking at forward next season

Pretty good forward. Please.
So you predict he's going to be an amazing forward?

Whats the difference? They are both predictions, mine is more conservitive. He did exactly what I said last season, great out of the gate, then cooled off considerably and by the playoffs wasn't producing well at all. I stand by my prediction that he's going to be a long term .7-.8ppg winger at best, and that's not worth losing our best defensemen for.

Burns has had a much bigger impact for the Sharks as a winger then D by far.

@KKurzCSN: #SJSharks have signed Alex Stalock, so there's your likely backup next season.

Wilson: "Stalock and Sateri will come in to camp and compete for the secondary spot", behind Niemi.

Completely agree that Burns should be a D-man long-term. He was acquired there because the Sharks have a deficiency in terms of the future.

However, DW may be thinking differently given how the D-pool has grown over the past two years.

Another thing to point out is we haven't heard a word about renewing Thornton, Marleau, Boyle or Pavelski for next season. I would say there is a fairly decent chance we lose at least one of them for absolutely no return. I think that's a massive mistake, and I don't think the very low odds at winning a cup next season are worth that kind of loss to a franchise that does not have the prospect system to replace them.

I think the Sharks are going to struggle mightly at even strength next year because of all this. Just a prediction.

The system changed once they got speed into the line up. I think the offense will be much improved.

I don't think the two have anything to do with one another. And if they do, its a mistake.

It's just math man... Pretty simple really...

One other thing to consider: 17 minutes of forward time is much easier on the body than 20 minutes of defense time on a body that has been hurt more than once.

Because you are a psychic and knew for a fact DW wasnt planning on trading someone.

You had no idea, you were making an assumption, you guessed right, but it was still a guess, and it will still turn out to be a mistake imo.

Burns became a better defenseman that Byflugien after Burns got moved to defense. Byflugien is doing pretty good on defense after a couple years at forward, I'm sure that once Burns goes back to defense again, he'll be fine.

Yup. This is just for a year and already doom and gloom.
