Too the people saying that the Canadiens just got softer, I hope you realize Briere is basically replacing Ryder. I must have missed Ryder's transition into a bruising/physical forward?

Good signing for the playoffs, if he can perform like he has in the past.

You haven't missed anything. Brière is as soft as Ryder.

I thought Bergevin was going to turn that franchise around

Looks like I might have been hasty

Wondering if all of you posting smurfs jokes think you are being original, or that you are the first to think about coming here posting a smurfs joke

not a bad move for the HABS really, he is a midget but can score. Gionta and Thomas are not alone!
Briere is 3 years older than Lecavalier. They'll both be the same age when their contracts expire.

FML, definitely a signing to please the vocal pro-franco only minority Really didn't want this player on our team at all, nothing to offer us even if he's not terrible.

That's horrendous, Briere is turning 36. He will be paid till he's about 38.

Vinny is signed for 4.5 till 38 and filled a bigger need for them. Not that his contract is any better but in retrospect, really makes you wonder why the hell a team already notorious for being soft and small got even smaller/softer.

It's a really bad deal. Actually feel bad for Hab fans.

Vinny will be 33 the entire season. Briere will turn 36 the first week of the season. They will both be 38 at the end of their respective contracts, so how is one fine and the other nuts?
