Haha.. YES. I made this prediction casually yesterday to my buddy.

I think he'll fit in great there and the over/under on a good deal should be 2.5ish.

Well awesome. Quality depth defenseman that can play in the top 4 in a pinch. This is our big free agent splash!

I would've been fine with anything below $2M per, nice contract.

Ballard-Stoner pairing? I can deal with it.

Can't be worse than what we saw last season.

2 years 1.5 per according to Russo's Twitter.

This is why the buyout of Gilbert made sense. You have a guy with at a bare minimum equal talent to BNTG, playing for less than half the cost.

BNTG is Dead

Long live BNKB

Would that be the third pairing? So the second would be Scandella - Spurgeon?

Sure, that's what I got unless something exceptional would happen during the camp. Seems unlikely.

I'd have prefered one year, make him earn a better one and if he doesn't play well, we are out nothing.

leaves us with $4,951,132 to sign a 2nd line C if its not Coyle or Granlund and still leave some depth space for injuries... so i figure 1.5-2 for a ufa 2nd line C

Hopefully we get him a RD partner still. Not confident with him or Stoner on the right side.

When I heard two years, I knew it was going to be $1.5m per.

Ballard will be a good third pairing guy but we're still lacking a proven second pairing.

I actually believe Ballard will relieve Clayton Stoner next season. Yes, Clayton freaking Stoner.

There's a chance.
