Would you have signed Dustin Penner to a 1 year $2m deal?

I would personally sign him to play on the third line. Not bad term or money.

Yes, but I believe he didn't want to leave California.

I can appreciate that. The man was maimed by pancakes FFS. Frozen maple syrup would surely be fatal.

No surprise who the luckiest team in the league was last year.

And for what it's worth, the Habs were middle of the road in luck.
Maybe it has some value but we don't know how to quantify this in games.
It may be 2 or 3 games which would have given 51-53 points to the Leafs.

I was expecting the Leafs to be a bubble team and get in PO.

Source is: http://www.hockeyabstract.com/luck
I looked in 2011-12 and Habs were not so unlucky.

Not sure how we can use this.

Funny how things change from one phone call. Reliable league source now says Kings actively shopping Kyle Clifford.

so are we back on track again?

From here on, I am going to ignore every rumor, whispers, tweets, websites............everything about a Hab trade or signing or anything.

I am officially resigned to thinking that what we have on the roster now is what we will see at the beginning of the season.

Long live Drewiske!!!!!!!!

I like Clifford. It would be a good trade by Bergevin.

I'm still a die hard Habs fan.

Just going to ignore the pointless Clifford/Morrow/Jagr/_________/player of the day talking about, tweeting about, rumored about threads.

Big build up...........slow free-fall.

Thanks to hoto for shutting the Clifford thread down before it became another epic "talking to" Morrow thread.

As long as:

1- you don't overpay

2- people don't start expecting the second coming of Bryan Bickell

I'd expect a tough ****er that stands up for his teammates, injects energy into the game when the team needs it, and someone who is responsible enough that you don't worry putting him on the ice. A younger Prust

Exactly, but I don't expect it to happen.

Are you kidding me? What the hell could we offer? We have nothing of value that wouldn't be a huge downgrade if traded for Clifford. Nobody wants Desharnais, Diaz and Moen.

i love when people say that especially when we have zero clue what LA's asking price is.

Same people who asked where MB was when Perron was dealt but when asked if they would trade Tinordi or Beaulieu, its basically not a chance.
