David Perron (ana and stl)

Saw on the main board he was being offered to any team for a two way centre.

As a ducks fan, who very much enjoys the blues here are my logical offers.

Peter Holland + pick ?

or

Nick Bonino (*if we sign an fa 2nd line centre)

thoughts ?

also what would a blues fan summary of perron be ? is he one dimensonal as so many fan-boys were crying about on the ducks board.

Holland would definitely be interesting. He is a talented, young center that has been very productive in the AHL the past two years. The problem is that he is completely unproven. I doubt Army is looking to move Perron for an unproven #2-3 center.

Perron's defensive game has grown a ton since he came into the league a few years ago as a 19 year old. You can see that playing for Andy Murray and Ken Hitchcock has made him take a little pride in playing a complete game.

With that said, he isn't winning the Selke any time soon. He will always hustle back to play D but he can get lost in his own end at times.

Perron isn't great defensively, but he tries to be responsible and he is decent enough. He gets PK time, but being with guys like Backes, Berglund, Steen, Sobotka, Oshie etc... it is under a minute a game.

I'm fine with move Perron but I wouldn't consider any of those deals to be honest.

I'd trade him for Holland+pick, but only if the blues can recuperate some of his offense in another move.

If not, then Perron is only being moved for a player with similar output.

And Bonino isn't anywhere near Perron's value.

That's the only senario Armstrong does this deal since it would not improve current roster.

What if it is Peter Holland and a prospect like Nicolas Kerdiles or Chris Wagner instead of a pick? I would consider this type of scenario rather than a pick and let Rattie and Jaskin battle for his spot.
