Jagr to NJ

@PantzNHL
"A report out of Russia suggests that Jaromir Jagr is interested in signing with the #Devils to play alongside Elias. I guess we'll see soon."

41 year old Jagr ran out of gas in a half season, I don't want to see what 42 year old Jagr does in a full season.

Besides, where would he play? We just signed 3 forwards in UFA.

Well Clowe drops to the third line, Ryder moves to left wing on the second line and Jagr plays the right side

He may take a "discount" of sorts if he feels NJ is a legitimate contender. And we should be. Our forward depth would be massively superior to what it was a year ago when we were in the SCF.

Ryder-Loktionov-Kovalchuk (its chemistry not cause Lokti is a number 1)
Elias-Zajac-Jagr
Henrique-Zubrus-Clowe

4th line is Grab Bag between:

Steve Bernier
Ryan Carter
Stephen Gionta
Mattias Tedenby
Jacob Josefson
Krys Barch
Rostislav Olesz

I wouldnt call us legitimate contenders. Im positive we make the playoffs and I know once you make it anything can happen, but I dont see it

Nope, they only play together on the powerplay. Every now and then they show up together and they combined for a sick goal against the blues once.

I like this.

Elias was able to get a lot out of Sykora. He should be able to work wonders with Jagr even at 41. Even if Jagr falls off towards the end of the season he'll have helped us get back in the playoffs in the first part of the season.

After playing 100+ games in a short amount of time (games in kladno counted), anyways good. I'm a huge Jagr fan and a Rangers fan so pls stay away .

I really don't want Jagr...the team should be young, not adding an aging player who's most likely only good for half a season.

he was putting up decent work in Dallas. his production dropped in Boston. is that running out of gas or just a bad team fit? i dont have the answer tbh

I don't see why NJ would want him. He isn't even the same player he was on Philly (who ran out of gas even in that season). If he is brought in his games will likely have to be limited, reducing his usefulness and requiring someone to replace him at times. He scored 0 goals in the playoffs despite making it to SCFs, while being slow and poor defensively. He makes more sense to a team like Edmonton who could use a veteran star player to have a good influence on their younger players like Jagr supposedly did for Giroux.

Makes a LOT of sense to just shift Kovy back to LW. And let Ryder play the RW.

Of course it makes sense, that's why it's never going to happen.
