I threw his name out earlier, but what about a deal with Beaulieu going to the Ducks as a key piece in a package for Ryan?

I said Clarkson to Leafs for a month. He was either going to the Leafs or staying in Jersey.

There was no chance we were getting him.

That's not because he was playing bad. He and coach Quenneville had some disagreements regarding Stålbergs ice time.

Great reminder Whiskey. This GDT deserves that all of us take a minute to vote for it. Hilarious!

I dont want to be a debbie downer, but if the answer is Max Talbot, Matt Cooke or Asham, we are not asking the right questions.

I hate it when we always end up scraping the bottom of the barrel of UFA and sign at best lateral move players.
So what are the alternatives? Some realistic examples would be nice.

If the bottom of the barrel is Talbot and Cooke and Asham, then Clarkson is just above that. There's not alot of players available in free agency.

So other than overspending on years and AAV on Clarkson or Lecavalier, then who do we realistically sign?

but MB stated he wasn't going to be busy today. Depth signings at best. Im still a bit confused over the Briere thing, but at least its only 2 years. Stop-gap I guess. Maybe Gionta is out long-term?

Le volet monétaire serait l'enjeu, Talbot ne serait pas seul dans le deal. #HABS #FLYERS

Might actually not be that bad. could use a rugged winger instead of GIonta, but alas...

Maybe so, but they'll want Beaulieu+ and it's the plus that sort of scares me... you'd have to add one of the Gallies or Eller I'd think...

Leafs will benefit short-term, but it'll cost them down the line. Depends of Kadri's next contract, and Kessel's (if he re-signs ). Plus, their D squad and goalies are still a big question marks.

That means were getting more back than we are giving by quite a bit if we can't fit it all in the 5 millions we have left....

Edit: Hartnell?
