Wow 7 years, 5.5 probably. They're gonna regret this lol. He's been a steady 40 Point player in his whole career. He's 29 years old...

A 20-25+20 player at the age of 29 isn't Worth that deal or that term, bad deal.

terrible.

I just knew my Leafs were going to be the suckers to sign Clarkson.

We just made him our highest paid forward, and he's going to be in tough to keep a top-6 spot even in year 1 of this 7 year deal.

unbelievably bad.

Took the 7 years out of the title, I'm not sure that's been confirmed anywhere yet.

Laugh all you want, but the Leafs have done nothing but grade in the last week. They add grit, size, and high end goaltending.

Oh my God ... if it is 7 years at $6MM per year that is awesome sauce. Will be laughing about this one for years.

Don Cherry just took a bunch of blue pills.

Ridiculous overpayment if it's over 5 million per season.

I really like David Clarkson, he's a wanted commodity right now, but it makes me sick to hear the analysts say that the deal "will be less than $6M." If the deal is even close to $6M, that's just gross. Like Clarkson though.

Exactly. More than 4.5 and it's an overpayment. Kinda what I'm expecting.

7 years isn't necessarily a problem depending on the dollar amount

are you guys kidding? Clarkson is exactly what we need, other than a centre. He has developed his goal scoring ability, is a great team player and a tough, imposing presence that we need to stand up to teams like the bruins. We haven't had a guy like this since Roberts and Tucker, and we sorely missed such a player in the playoffs. Oh and he's from Toronto and you can bet he will play his heart out. Thank you Nonis!
