It's got to be Cullen, followed by Stalberg, then a tie between Hendricks & Nystrom ... Due to the fact that he's not a grinder and that is the role they're asking him to perform

I can't believe you included bench. He carries the whole team almost every game. Upshall's hair on the other hand......

Didn't Poile or Trotz state that Cullen will be our top-line center?

IMO it has to be either Nystrom or Hendricks. I chose Hendricks bc outside of shootouts what does the guy have? It was kind of a tie for me but I didn't choose Nystrom because everytime we played Dallas I wanted to fight him myself. So, if that was my mentality when he was on the opposing team, then I welcome him bcuz that's how he'll be still.

Hendricks can win face offs though. Believe he was over 53% last season. But I believe he'll probably play wing.

Uhh Nystrom got paid too much but I actually like him as a player. Hendricks seems like a waste to me cause we already have Gaustad so I voted for him. I mean he might help us in the shootouts I suppose.

Pfft. All he does is provide support. He contributes nothing on the ice. At least enforcers can occasionally intimidate people; he doesn't even do that much.

Also, have you seen him skate?

I believe the Cullen first line thing is true. Or Atleast they may try it that way at first.

He's forever getting too many men on the ice penalties too.

Nystrom

I watched enough Caps games last year living in DC to know that Hendricks has some legitimate value. Most Caps fans were upset to lose him. Cullen is not a #1 C but I think he'll contribute well. Stalberg hopefully pans out to be a 2nd line winger. Nystrom adds grit, but I think the least value of the bunch.

Well 'Bench' is still part of the Nashville Predators and never scores any goals and only takes penalties despite the longevity 'Bench' has had. I'd welcome 'Upshall's Hair' back in a heartbeat but it would only likely make a bad toupee for Trotz...

Come on guys. Bench has intangibles. He is dedicated to this team. He is at every public skate, every open house... I don't think he even leaves the arena! I think Bench would be heartily welcomed on any team that did not have their own version of him.

Well, I know the players love him in the locker room.

On the preds, since they roll three second lines, it could very well work.

I just wanted to add that during the free agency opening day, it was tweeted by Cooper or someone else reputable that Cullen will indeed be our #1C.

I think Bench gets too much love since he came with the building, and everyone loves nostalgia.

I guess 'Bench' and Dan Ellis were pretty tight back in '08 too: http://www.theonion.com/articles/goa...g-in-net,2428/ I'd say it would be hard to live in the Arena full-time...

Bench just got a new coat of lacquer - he'll bring his "A" game (well, whatever game an energy guy brings).

Personally, I think they'll all be fine; although I think our (fanbase) expectations for Stalberg might not be satisfied.

Nystrom because he does nothing aside from Grinding in a 4th line role. At least Hendricks is good on faceoffs and in shootouts and we are paying him less.

Cullen and Stalberg will add to the team and be worth their contracts.

Nystrom. Overpaid 4th liner who will likely be popular but unproductive.

just a friendly grouchy, grumpy, complaining reminder that its not your money being spent, and as of yet these "too expensive" signings havent prevented us from signing/obtaining anyone else

and to actually get on topic for the thread I'd like to say that the most "useless" acquisition is Hutton, because I dont think he will get used much at all and I do think we need a more reliable backup goalie in an Olympic season
