Younger, cheaper, and better than Dan Ellis. I'm exited to see what Khudobin brings to the table.

I think Kudobin thought that it's easier to steal #1 job from ward than Rask.

The Canes could actually make the playoffs with a backup that can get some wins and lighten Ward's load.

Guy should have signed somewhere he had a chance to start. No chance of passing Ward...

Good signing for the Canes, it sucked how downhill your season went after Ward's injury.

Some stability in net will do wonders.

Great signing by the canes, dissapointed Boston couldn't do that same deal. He has alot of upside and will be a great option for Carolina to give Ward some rest.

Wow! I thought he would have got more $ than that and at least a 2 year deal. I would have rather had him as a backup in Winnipeg than Montoya. Especially at that price.

Grats Canes, he's a stellar backup who can conceivably start

He will probably play more games in Carolina than he would have in Boston & has a better chance of being a starter there sooner if he stays, or who knows maybe a team will want him as a starter next year.

Probably thinks there's no way he supplants Tuuka.

Ward is no Tuuka, but it's not like ward isn't a great goalie as well...

Who knows? Svedberg must be ready, and it looks like subban will get a lot of minutes in the A

With Rask going to be signed-up to a very long-term contract and Malcolm Subban being ready for a back-up job in 2-3 years there was simply zero future for Anton in Boston if he ever wanted to be a starter. Ward lives of his name but really is not that great lately and Dobby has a chance to outplay him or at least get some major playing time.

I thought Subban couldn't play in the AHL until 2014-15?

Very good signing for the Canes. Surprised he didn't sign with a team without a strong starter though.

exceptionally happy about today. Two very under the radar signings that could easily be positive contributors on the Canes. Now to find out who this mystery UFA is.

Solid signing, hope AK doesn't disappear behind Ward like he did behind Rask

Then why not go to Philly, he's probably better than emery and danis ( and mason)
