Sens fan here:

You got a good deal - in fact I feel we may have given up too much. We have loads of depth in prospects but we are not happy to be giving up Silfverberg. He is as safe of a bet as you can find to be a top-six forward who is strong two-way player and a good leader. He had difficulty adjusting to the NA ice this year at first but by the end of his time in the AHL he was just absolutely dominant. In his time in Ottawa it was tough for Silf to get a lot of points with all of our injuries but our coach raved about him. Him and Noesen would be a solid return - adding a first is overkill.

Really glad the Ryan saga is finally over, and we got a nice price too. Hoping we go after Grabo instead of Roy though

Silfverberg is a stud... thats for sure.

And the fact that noessen plays with rakell makes me assume our scouts have a pretty decent book(seeing as they prob spend a lot of time watching rakell) on noessen and added him in the trade for a reason.

The only problem with Silf, glaring, actually, is his lack of NHL speed. That is one thing, though, that he can improve on. If he put in the work he will score 30 every year. Good trade both sides.

I think this is a pretty descent return.

Silf can fill Ryan's spot on the 2nd line, cheaper. As people said, we got cap space back as well, and hopefully that means Grabo. And if Silf is a bit faster, that team badly needs it.

We definitely got organizational value back for Ryan, and some flexibility with the pick and cap space.

Ryan might be putting up 40 goals next year, who knows. Or he could get an injury and miss half the season.

I don't think anyone lost this trade. Just both sides have different needs.

I'm fine with this. Bobby isn't a youngster anymore and he had many seasons to show that he can become as good as was projected. He hasn't become bad, but not an elite player either. It's worthless to look at some ancient scouting reports because those projections didn't just hit the mark.

I think Silf, Noesen and 1st round pick is a good deal for Ducks.

Not bad. But couldn't we have gotten Cowen instead?

Mixed feelings about this...

Need to check more of those two prospects, but none of them is projected to be a first line winger... Also, I don't think Ottawa will suck next year, so the first rounder doesn't sound like a top-10 one by any mean.

Personally i don't like this trade, we could have get more for Ryan. Especially immediate help.

I wanted Bobby to break out, so bad, and just be the elite player, I believed he could be. But it just never happened. I hope he finally does it in Ottawa.

RIP RPG.

I like the trade. Solid return and Ryan was never going to reach his potential with us. Plus, we freed up cap room and don't have to deal with all those rumours anymore.

Haha well we wanted Bob to do something.

Wow, this is huge. I was expecting something more proven talent coming back but this return could really turn out to be very good. Definitely boosts our prospect pool.

Bobby was going to be traded sooner or later. Too bad that his value was down after this season, could have had more a year ago I think. But anyway, there was no way to keeping him and his lack of trying and the trouble of finding him a spot were always an issue. He probably scored 40 next year and it sucks to see him go but this was bound to happen.

Now, with the room created, Bob should go after Grabovski, I like the idea of him centering Etem and Silfverberg.

^^ He went to Ottawa.

I like the trade for the Ducks. Ryan was underwhelming for a while now and the return is quite nice. I place higher value on the 1st rnd pick than I do Noesen but only due to not knowing much about him. If the Sens have a bad season without their leader in Alfie the Ducks could have a great pick on their hands. The Sens are a good team but if they run into injury trouble again I don't see the same miracle season happening twice. Especially in such viciously competitive new divisions with an owner who is not able to match the cap spending of everyone else in their region.

Looks like Murray got some quality assets in return for a player the Ducks weren't likely going to retain. Happy about it.

Ryan was a frustrating player to watch, but his goal scoring will be missed for sure.

I've seen quite a bit of Silfver. There is a ton of upside there.

Hey guys, I've been watching Silfverberg and Noesen since their draft years.

Silfverberg upside: 35-30= 60-70 point player player with amazing 2 way game and leadership abilities.

Noesen upside: Callahan/Brown ability. 40-50 point player with grit and solid 2 way game with dominant puck possession ability.

Silfverberg could be an amazing gem.

Thank you to the visiting Sense fans with input and kind words for their former players. It's definitely appreciated.

I don't think we need to say a lot about Ryan, from our part.
Happy that this ended up being a good trade for both sides. Don't think it would have ended up this peaceful with a trade to Philly after all that's been discussed.

I'm guessing Noesen isn't NHL ready. How about Silvferberg, will he push for roster spot or is he a year away?

I keep reading good 2 way player with Silfverberg (that "f' in the middle is going to be a pain to type haha). So Pahlsson + hands is what we're looking at?
