Glad it's done, but how do you trade Bobby to Ottawa without getting Ziban or Cowen?

Don't think Cowen was much of an option for the Sense. And Zib might not be much less attractive to the Ducks, for all we know.

Did anyone at TSN watch Bobby this year? Like, at all?

Yeah, he's really good but come on.

Happy we traded Ryan . Not overly happy with the return - right now we're a worse team next year. Silverberg is a great young player though.

Duck fans should keep this in mind:

Bobby Ryan was never going to re-sign with the Ducks after his contract, especially after all the trade rumors that have been going on for the past 2 years.

If we waited 1 year to trade Bobby, it would just be a 1 year rental for that team and so his value wouldn't be that high.

Right now is/was the best time to trade him.

TSN's audience wants to watch them hype one of their team's latest acquisition? You HAVE watched TSN before right? :3

Got a feeling Teemu is retiring.

Given Silfverberg is a certainty to be in the NHL next season, we have Palmieri and Etem there as well. Beleskey and Maroon as bottom 6 wingers.

Teemu could slot into the #2 RW role and Etem on the 4th line, is that in Etem's best interests in terms of development?

Yeah, he really hasn't been an elite player in Anaheim for a while (if ever)

He could become elite in Ottawa, but you'd think we've traded a 50 goal scorer with the way they carry on

Our top 6 is going to be so young this year unless we sign someone like Grabo.
Any idea of what our top 6 will be like after this acquisition?

Glad they finally moved Bobby. It was past time.

Value is pretty good. Probably a little better than I expected we could get. I think a number of Ducks fans were a little overoptimistic on what he could return.

Pretty disappointed though in how little "now" the trade return brings.

Yep. I suspect Bobby will be very motivated this season and actually give a lot of effort. He probably will hit high 30's or 40. I think it will be ok because I dont feel he would give the same effort here. He seemed burned out and uninterested this entire season and his effort against the Wings was downright laughable.

I will miss his funny tweets but this deal had to be done.

Hopefully a 2nd line center will be signed.

How about we get through the rest of the UFA signings, go to camp, play some exhibition games, and then answer that question?

Rookies are inconsistent and unpredictable.

You think Palms is not responsible??

Now let's hope the Sens tank this next season so we can get a top 5 pick

Oh and to Sens fans - Ryan loves breadsticks.

Hey Guys,

New Ducks fan here. I've always kind of liked them, but I thought I might start following them more closely this year. What is the general consensus on the value here? It seemed like a lot of people wanted Ryan out. I really like Silfverberg, so I'm pretty happy with him being included.

Rookies are inconsistent and unpredictable, I agree! This has nothing to do with my post however.

I said Palmieri is not among our more defensively responsible players. To answer your question: he had his dark moments last season and his defensive game definitely needs work. I'm not saying he's bad, just that we have better two way players.

Duck fans are usually unrealistic.

I think we got a good deal. I don't know much about Silfverberg or Noesen, but I trust management in picking two very good prospects who are NHL ready. The 1st round pick? Icing on the cake.
