No chance. The guy fights a lot.

Won't win them all, but will take on heavies and not look bad against them.

Most taxes paid in Mtl.

Least in Florida.

Veteran who has seen better days jumps from one to the next.. in a team full of midgets...

Looking like a repeat of BGL. Will be happy to be wrong.

Ultimately, doesn't matter much.

I always said this team needed to get more Greek. The last time we had a Greek goon on this team we finished first in the conference.

All fine with me.

Prust, White, Moen and Parros capable of throwing'em up front. A guy like Murray on the back-end would sure help.
Yes. Agree with this!!

About damn time!!!

Leaf fan here in peace, should be REALLY interesting. Sadly I wish we had landed Parros. He is a smart guy, not just a bruiser. Oh well, let the games begin, Gorges can relax a bit now . I'm also happy for Prust, grew up playing with him so glad to see he won't have to get into the heavyweight bouts.

Great Pickup, the writing was on the wall after Toronto shamed us, that most embarrassing evening. Boys will skate with more confidence now.... Also Parros has never been a liability on the ice, the guy is a Princeton grad, clearly a genius.

Fought 11 times in about as many years the year before.
Fought 27 times the year before.

He will actually start things out there. Nothing to do with Laraque. Prust won't have to fight against monsters anymore.
Yeah just saw that he fights big guys! Fought Scott, Orr & Kassian last year!

here are all his fights from last year:

http://www.hockeyfights.com/players/...htcard/reg2013

at least he can go with these guys and not get embarassed. Wear them down a bit and make Orr think twice about trying to kill our guys....

If you put the CH on, hear the crowd and have a soul, you'll play and do your job. Laraque obviously had no soul.

pointless trade, should have just signed Mcgrattan. Not that great a fighter, just another staged fighting master who does his dance and sits the rest of the game. Utterly pointless.

...why is it we only sign goons well on their way down??? Laraque, Cummins, Downey, and on and on...

I like the trade…

This is a temporary fix until we can find something better. With the addition of Briere I really have to believe that Bergevin will look to trade for size that can actually play on a regular basis. Parros will be useful, but for the regular season… cause I doubt we would dress Parros in the playoffs. The main question remains how much can he fight and how much does he want to fight. I believe he unsderstand his role and will fight any willing combatant. He will probably win a fair part of those and will shopw up for the others.

All in all, not bad… but we need more

Alfredsson allways been a good 2way forward.
Briere need sheltered minutes, and we aquired him after his worst season ever.

Some 40yo players are still good in the NHL see : Selanne, Jagr, etc.
But most of 'em are on the decline at 33-35yo. Ask Gomez.

At this point in time : Alfredsson is much much better than Briere.

Come on Grant, you cant argue with that.

Us? You mean you and your bad attitude. You didn't even include what each team lost in the offseason. Yeah Bruins added Eriksson but they substracted Seguin and Peverley.

I love how we balance things.

Parros grows more facial hairs in one night than Brière since he was drafted

These type of players should not necessarily be measured by the amount of fights, but rather how effective they are protecting their players. The amount of potential fights can vary based on their mere presence and reputation. I don't expect a huge difference other than we probably won't have to see prust fighting guys like lucic for example

Pacioretty-Plekanec-Gallagher
Bourque-Briere-Gionta
Galchenyuk-Eller-Desharnais
Prust-White-Parros

Gorges-Subban
Markov-Emelin
Tinordi-Diaz
Bouillon
Drewiske

Still need to trade a few players, but I'm OK with that...

Comparing Briere to Alfie is way beyond a full **** load of full glasses
