Are you counting everyone, because a couple guys on 1-way contracts are going to be in the AHL and not count against the cap.
We pretty much have to move someone now I personally hate the signing. Perron and Stewart are both better players then Roy at this point. If Halak is moved I am ok with it. It's not a good signing though.
It was pretty much unavoidable this season. Without major trades, keeping our guys was going to take us close and management would have known that when they picked up Bouwmeester and Leopold.
Fair enough. I don't view this as the beginning of a consistent trend. I'd be shocked if the Blues weren't able to ice a similar team as to whatever this one will be in 2014-2015. They shouldn't (and won't) be in cap hell.
It really could be either or. I know the main assumption is that it will be Jaro though.
Perron does make sense in that picking up Roy would allow Hitch to try Berglund on LW. If that didn't work then Berglund moving back to wing and Sobotka as the third line LW or call up Jaškin.
I don't think we'd have an issue sending Aucoin down, but I think the idea was for him to be on the NHL roster. Plans can change though.
It is now just whether we will see a trade for futures to drop salary or a 2-for-1 type deal.
I'm starting to be convinced that Perron would be moved before Halak. Allen needs more time to prove himself, and Elliott can be a bit streaky. Both Elliott and Halak are FAs after this season, so something tells me one will perform better than the other.
With Jaskin and Rattie in the wings, it seems like a winger has to be moved. Either him or Stewart, IMO.
