Damien Brunner

Has anybody heard anything in regards to where Brunner is possibly headed and whether or not the Sabres have had any contact with him? I really haven't heard any rumors about Brunner and I would really like it if The Sabres were able to sign him. He would be right in his prime in 2-3 years when we are (hopefully) contending for the Cup.

He's young enough he could contribute post-rebuild if he wants to. He could conceivably replace Staff.

But Brunner... Meh, whatever. I'd prefer to do nothing.

Awards:
In terms of the statements from the front office, Brunner does not fit the mold of a vet to help support the youngsters in the traditional leadership role sense and his offensive sample size is tinier than Leino's. Perhaps in a scenario where they move both Vanek and Stafford and have a need for a stop-gap offensive winger, but beyond that.... not really a fit.

I'm 50/50 on Brunner. I think he'd be a great offensive cog post-rebuild, but adding him now might actually SLOW the rebuild down

i thought brunner and khudobin had the most potential of the free agents, especially in terms of bang for your buck. it's tough for our situation because we're looking at a three to five year window when the team should start peaking but signing brunner to a deal that long would be risky. we could use a right winger though so who knows
