Exactly. Hes gonna have a great year. Score 20 goals, 15 assists and a 50 game scoreless streak.

Who would even center him in Peg? Olli Jokinen? Nik Antropov? doesn´t seem likely that he will rebound much or at all. Setoguchi needs someone to feed him for him to score goals.(In his best season he played with Joe Thorton) He doesn´t generate much scoring opportunities on his own.

I'm sure the Winnipeg has better insight than we do

I'll believe it when I see it.

My bet? He'll come storming out of the gate, get 4-5 goals in the first 7-10 games. Jets fans will say they won the trade. 2 months into the season, he'll regress to his averages, finish with 20-25 goals and be invisible if he's not scoring.

I was not a Seto fan, ever. I was really hopeful we'd be able to pull Pavelski out of San Jose, even if it meant not getting Coyle OR the first round pick in the Burns deal.

This is speculation, but I really wonder about his dedication to the game.

JT Bourne wrote about guys that don't live up to their potential or are streaky, a lot of guys he knew that were like that liked to go out a lot at night. We know he missed a game due to that once with the Wild.

Didn't seem to be a consistent level of engagement on his part. He'd have his ups and downs, but a lot of times seemed more like a passenger than someone driving the bus. Had nice scoring streaks, but never had games that he just took over.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see him have a could seasons where he flirts with 30 but to be out of the league in 5-6 years when he hits some rough patches and can't pull out of them as easily.

Only one 2nd rounder next year, or am I missing something?

Didn't he sign with a team during the lock out and then never actually show up to play for them?

iirc it was understood by the team and Seto. he signed up as a casual. shared ice, worked out with them etc. i was all pissy about NHLrs taking jobs away from the lower tiers but this one was legit.

This trade seems like a wash. I doubt the Wild had Gooch penciled in on the 2014 roster, and they got a nice pick for him, probably as well as they could do.

I'm sure they hope he doesn't figure out the consistency thing though, because he certainly had some good games over the last two seasons.

Enjoy Winnipeg Gooch. The fans up there are special.

Dammit stop bumping this thread. I don't wanna think about this trade anymore. Time to move on. I can be reminded of it later this year when we face Peg.

We don't really know. Here's a mock lineup:

Ladd - Little - Wheeler
Kane - Jokinen - Setoguchi
O'Dell - Scheifele - Frolik
Wright - Slater - Thorburn/Peluso

Players in bold are set. He will probably play with Evander Kane because the LLW line has amazing chemistry and won't be broke up. The question is who will center them, Jokinen or Scheifele? Or another UFA? Last year Noel had Jokinen with Kane most of the time and Jokinen had a bad year. Antropov is a UFA and probably won't be back, but Burmistrov going to the KHL may change that.
