About what is expected. Still an RFA at the end.

This will be a bargain in a few months when Toronto realizes what he can do.

I guess this means Bernier is going to be getting more PT then Reimer. It's too bad I think Reimer proved he's a good enough starter in this league and handled the PO pressure well too.

It will be interesting to see the Goalie situation next year. But just as a signing for a very promising young goalie this is a good deal.

It doesn't mean ****. Did Grabovski get more playing time than Bozak? No he didn't. Carlyle goes with who is playing well. If Bernier is ******** the bed, Reimer will be in net.

Seems like alot but since someone said he's still RFA at the end I guess it was worth it.

Bernier will most likely be the Leafs starter of the future if his play is anywhere close to Reimer's. I don't know why but it doesn't seem like Nonis and Carlyle have much confidence in Reimer...when he's literally carried them in the regular season a couple of times.

Reimer faced the 6th most shots and still managed to play spectacular...but each time Carlyle just says "We just need a chance to win. Reimer gave us a chance"

No Carlyle...Reimer didn't give you a chance, he saved your job.

Still don't know why they traded for him. Could he be better than Reimer? Sure. Could Reimer just as easily be a very good goalie? YEP.

Ok Deal for a platoon goalie.

I'll be nice for the Leafs Honestly I believe that a great signing... Him and Riemer are gonna fight for no.1 next season and both IMO have the potential to do so

A decent amount of money for a guy who hasn't really proven anything yet but I'm confident that he'll quickly earn it.

Reimer needs to learn to control his rebounds.

The Reimer fans are probably up in arms over this as they were probably wishing Bernier would get a offer sheet from someone(Holmgren )

In a few months they'll see the true value of Bernier and realise he's a significant upgrade on Reimer.

Calm your **** bro. Why would you pay your starter 1.8 million and your back up 2.9? That's all I'm saying. Obviously both will have to prove their worth but if Reimer does end up becoming the starter then 2.9 is way to much for a back-up.

With Reimer I think the fear is that he won't be able to replicate his miraculous season, and then there is literally zero organizational depth at goal as a plan B.

If both bernier and Reimer prove to be top 10 NHL goalies, then the leafs will be in an enviable situation and can trade 1. If one struggles and the other plays well, then our team is t shot in the foot by shoddy goaltending.

Also, Reimer has a history of concussions (although he looks to be past that now)

Solid move and we will be paying a combined 4.6m for goaltending, very low compared to most teams.

Money doesn't matter much. They were signed in a different circumstance.

Reimer was signed after his 35 games in his first season. Bernier's QO is like 1.6M so it's obvious that he was going to get paid more than Reimer.

Because Reimers contract wasn't signed this year. It was signed after he missed more than half a season with a concussion. That's like saying PK Subban isn't the #1 damn because he makes 2.8m

PK Subban isn't the #1 d-man though anyways, far from it.

I can't complain about it either way, I was never debating why Reimer is making such little amount for a starter. The optics of the deal just appear that Bernier will be the starter because he is being paid almost $3 million bucks and again that's a lot for a back-up so obviously he is being touted as the next starter with that type of money being thrown around.
