gauthier and Mantha were on a line in the red white game as well, maybe trying to make a huge line that can score and shut down the opposition a bit? Those two would be enormous in the juniors

Yeah, no offense to anyone at HF Boards but it's very difficult to take their DRW prospect analysis seriously.

Janmark playing his first pre-season game at the moment, against Örebro who play in the SHL as well. He scored their first goal and assisted on the second.

Mixed up Jarnkrok & Janmark...

Janmark plays for AIK and has played there all recent years. Järnkrok played for Brynäs and is coming to North America already.

AIK lost for Örebro 2-4.

Janmark 1+1 for both AIK goals.

Could not get a better start.

Apparently Mantha is getting some work done. Had 2 assists against Finland today.

That's embarrassing. I was wondering why Jarnkrok was playing in Sweden when he was coming over this year, I reasoned to myself it was because he wanted to be in game shape before training camp.

But it's great that he had a good start. If Janmark could finish in the top 15/20 of scoring while getting some Euro games in & playing in the World Championship it would be a great year. I wonder if he would cross the pond as he would be the same age as Jarnkrok was when he made the jump.

There's the Ivan Hlinka (which is U18, I think) and then the WJC summer camp, which is U20. Mantha is in the WJC camp.

Looking on the rosters at eliteprospects and Reinhardt and McDavid seem to be in on both tournaments

Both of the Reinharts and McDavid are only playing at the u20 camp. They probably just got thrown on the Hlinka roster in case they decided to send them there for some reason.

Mantha had 2 assists and a big hit in todays game. Not sure how he looked overall but got an assist on one line, moved to the other and got a point there as well.

Hes too big and too good at scoring goals to not make team Canada but crazier things have happened so we'll see

if he doesn't make the team he's basically a lock to be top 5 in the Q in points

I always thought the CHL had a break during the World Junior Tournament ?

How many games are they missing?

Around 10 games, depending on camp lengths and when teams decide to play them etc.

Mantha had another assist today, apparently it was a "great feed" to Horvat.

Got involved in some rough stuff at the end as well possibly I read. Domi also tried to fight at the end because someone went after McDavid lol

For a fee, you can watch each game on-demand over at fasthockey.com.

For a small highlight package http://www.tsn.ca/canadian_hockey/ has it on the right side panel.

Mantha is scratched today, as they're trying to get everybody in for 2 games. Seems like he must have performed pretty decently, as he had 3 assists in his 2 games.

I would say he should probably be happy with his showing and it probably helped his chances at the team.

Someone sitting behind Jake Paterson may want to toss him a magazine.
Apparently not seeing a lot of action.

Corey Pronman ‏@coreypronman 3 min
WSH's Riley Barber slapper makes it 1-0 on a 5 on 3 PP.

Corey Pronman ‏@coreypronman 1 min
FLA's McCoshen makes it 2-0 on another 5 on 3. Paterson struggling to read the play after a long stretch of no action.

Considering the organizational logjam and the longer four year draft rights, I think we'll see Janmark at least another two years in Sweden. Perhaps if AIK gets relegated from the SHL(possible but not probable) and he doesn't want to switch clubs and goes overseas instead, but short of that I can see him stay 2-3 years. Hopefully he can make the best of it and become a National team player.

He looked great in those highlights, more powerful than I remembered him. Looks like he's bulked up a bit.
