THANK GOD

when the stars are out you play a hard/physical "system" style of play and tootoo is one of maybe 2 orr 3 red wings only capable of doing so in our entire organization

Glad to have Toots back. Did they have to put someone on STIR to make room for him?

We'd be better off bringing Callahan up.

Agreed. Tootoo playing 6 minutes tomorrow is just another placeholder. He doesn't help the team win and is gone after this season anyway.

#RedWings bringing in Jordin Tootoo for his energy & physicality, will play Thursday vs Flames. No new injuries. Will now have 13 forwards.

So, he's taking Samuelsson's spot, cool.

why 6 minutes?

not sure what his career best season is production wise vs anderssons, millers or eaves but its probably in the same ball park if not maybe even more suggessting he can hold his own as well as those three can

Why 6 minutes? Because he'll play on the 4th line with no PP or PK time. And Babcock can't trust him in the last 5 minutes of the period. Odds are unless the Wings are up 4-1 he won't play much in the 3rd either.

He brings more to the table then half the plugs on the team. Has to be a reason from the coach dressing 13 forwards and calling him up.

About effing time. He should play 10-11 minutes. He's got more offensive skill and skating ability than people give him credit for and more than some of the rummies getting 10-13 minutes a night as of late.

I agree with you. His last season in Nashville was truly fantastic.

Never really see people knock his skating ability. On the flip side he has a lot less fighting abilities and physical prowess than a lot of people like to attribute to him. He is an NHL player, just an overpaid one and one that doesn't seem to have any trust from our coach.

Hope he plays well, I like Tootoo and thank God they never call charging correctly anymore in this league.

Give it time. We still have 24 hours until the next game. There's a skate between now and then. Guessing by talent, probably Dats, Alfredsson or Tats.

well perhaps decisions such as these are setting us up to lose and if those decisions are made over and over then hmmm...

Babcock could shuffle this roster a million times for a million years and he'd still never get Shakespeare.

He should be the player we build are 4th line around. But **** babs and his obsession with limiting him to 7 minutes a game.

I don't give two ***** about the fact that he makes .5 million too much. He is a guy like mccarty that will give you it back 10 fold in the current constructed roster and help set the "tone" that the team needs to embrace atm.

I know zett4capt has been harping on this in the thread but tootoo is the kinda player every team needs. He can play as well as be aggressive and he sticks up for his teammates.

Really been upset with the past few games. I expect the losses. But this team doesn't have **** for a backbone right now. They just give up unless they are a first year player or a grand rapids call up. They need to show some fight. They don't have to win but they need to show they have a ****ing pulse. He will help bring the correct attitude and hopefully he will energize the youngsters and motivate them to bring a extra 10%. Cause any vet not named kronner, z, d, franzen, or alfie is a ****ing joke and if they get another contract this summer I'm gonna flip out if it happens.

Doesn't seem like Babcock can, either. Out of the 20 forwards that have suited up for Detroit so far, he's 17th in TOI/game.

Worth noting Tootoo is dead last by a healthy margin.

I'd rather have Tootoo in than Eaves, Cleary, Sammy, Miller, Joker, and Sheahan. All of which don't really help the team out. Too many fourth line players.
