Frk was a beast tonight. Kid is good.

Tv radon was better than I thought.

Marchenko, not so good. Needs time to adjust.

Gleason Fournier is good but plays like an inline player. Career ahler.

Griffs lost 2-0. Their preseason is over, regular season begins Oct 4 vs Rochester Americans.

Chad, I thought that was a pretty flimsy article. Nothing of any value in there.

As angry as most of us are as a fan-base, the early part of the Griffins AHL schedule all has their middle fingers extended at Babcock and Holland for Nyquist being down there. Hope Gus scores four points a game and doesn't celebrate a single one.

The guy has an outside chance at representing Sweden in the Olympics and our organization just sabotaged it to a huge degree today, really feel for him.

Here's a guy who is 24 years old. And starting the season in Grand Rapids.
It boggles the mind.
Even if it is temporary -- it showcases how badly this team develops players these days.
This guy should have been in Grand Rapids to start the 2010-11 season.
He should have gotten about 40 games in 11-12 and been a fulltimer getting 16 minutes a night in the NHL for 48 games last year.

I count 18 forwards, 10 D, & 3 goalies. The Walleye should get 5-8 players. I haven't a clue as I don't know who played in the pre-season games. Also does anyone know if there is a limit to the number of RW contracts that can be sent to Toledo?

Like it matters?

He's dominated that league for 2 years already.

Hopefully Gus' temporary return doesn't send Tvrdon to an overage season with the Vancouver Giants another unintended ripple effect I have no interest in seeing.

The guy is good enough to make a Swedish Olympic camp over several NHL players, this fate is not deserved at all.

Well to be honest, I only read the first paragraph + noticed a couple of Blash quotes before posting it. Thought it would have some insight but it was very average. And the sorry was a half-sarcastic sorry

Last season and the lockout really made me a GR fan. Can't wait to watch this year's team which I find even more interesting than last year's one. Järnkrok, Sproul, Ouellet, Frk, Pulkkinen, Marchenko, Jensen, Tvrdon, Coreau ... and that's only the new guys. A line with Järnkrok and Nyquist would be interesting to see if GN stays down for a while.

The #RedWings have recalled rookie defenseman Xavier Ouellet from Grand Rapids. Gustavsson, Tootoo, Helm and Eaves will begin season on IR.

I think it is a good thing Nyquist is waiver eligible and not Tatar. I see Nyquist being a much more understanding and patient guy than Tatar based on comments in the media.

I also think playing with Jarnkrok could really help bring Jarnkrok along and become better acclimated NA ice. The puck possession between the two of them will likely be something worth watching on a nightly basis, if they do keep Nyquist down and they get put together.

Going to the Griffins game on Friday night in my hometown. Will let you guys know how everyone looks live.

Probably going to be just following the Griffins if/until the Red Wings pull their head outta their ass.

Not the way you wanted at all I am sure, but hey you get to see your favorite Wings prospect in person.

Will be hard to stomach, that's for sure.

But I'll be rooting hard for good ole Gus.

Actually excited to see the rest of the team, too. I think Frk is going to have a big season.

I'm a lot more interested in that team than the Wings, given the state of things.

Frk and Jurco will be exciting to follow. Curious to see if Jurco can take the step and be a leading player. I think Frk will have it a little easier to adjust in his first season, and put up between 40-50 points.

What are the current lines, btw?

Not sure on lines. But if I'm stuck watching Nyquist in GR on Friday, I hope I at least get to see Nyquist and Jarnkrok play together. I think that would be cool.

Also encouraging to see Blash likes Frk.

The top line to start will be center Calle Jarnkrok flanked by Tomas Jurco and Gustav Nyquist, Blashill said. The second line with be center Luke Glendening with Jeff Hoggan and Teemu Pulkkinen. Blashill was uncertain Friday on the other two lines with one more forward expected to be moved.

Find it interesting he is calling that the second line because I would call that the third. I mean that likely leaves Sheahan and Frk with somebody else (hopefully Tvrdon) together somewhere and I would call that the second line.

I really don't understand why we waste roster spots on players like Glendening and Parkes when we've got so many prospects.
The idea of Sheahan as 3rd line center in GR doesn't sit well with me.
