Now theres a terrific player being mentioned & acknowledged by Toe Blake, Doug Diesel Mohns. Very versatile and tough as nails. Played both forward & defence throughout his career. Bit of an Enforcer & Policeman , not that he really needed one for Mikita & Hull in Chicago. Played for the Barrie Flyers in Junior under Hap Emms, a legendary team from the early 50's, Memorial Cup winners. Played Left Wing, then got called up to Boston to fill-in for an injured player, assigned to play Defence & was so impressive, stuck around. When he was traded to Chicago early 60's, back on the Wing again with Kenny Wharram & Stan Mikita, the Scooter Line. Later in his career with Minnesota, returned to Defence.
