If you're going off of how his last name is actually pronounced then it should be Choosh, as his name uses the Ч character (Ничушкин.) A lot of the Dallas media pronounces it like "Nishooshkin" but if that were correct, his name would be spelled "Нишушкин"

See, I don't know these things for I am a simple Westerner with no knowledge.

I can't believe they gave him B bonuses .... I really freaking hate those.

The plus side ... if he earns a B bonus it means he turned into what we all wanted him to:

Quote:
Schedule B bonuses cannot exceed $2 million in aggregate. Following is a run down.

Hart, Norris, Vezina, Selke, Richard
Winner: $250,000
Second: $200,000
Third: $150,000
Fourth: $100,000
Fifth: $50,000

Lady Byng
Winner: $150,000
Second: $100,000
Third: $50,000

Jennings
Winner: $50,000 * pro-rated share if co-winner

Calder
Winner: $212,500
Second: $150,000
Third: $100,000

All-Star Team
1st Team: $100,000
2nd Team: $50,000

Conn Smythe
Winner: $250,000
Please note the values in this chart mean nothing towards a B bonus. This is the money that the league pays a player for winning any of the awards listed. It never counts against the cap.

If he wins any of the awards listed or reaches in the accomplishments listed, he is immediately owed his full $350,000 bonus. This is a one time bonus per year. If he wins the Calder and a Conn Smythe next season (:naugty) he's only paid $350,000 by the Dallas Stars, and then the award money listed above from the league. 2nd and 3rd place don't matter with a B bonus. He would have to be the winner.

EDIT: I knew the Calder didn't sound right ....

Quote:
Teams may only negotiate bonuses for Hart, Richard, Vezina, Jennings, Norris, Conn Smythe and Selke awards
These are the only awards that allow a B bonus. Usually CapGeek is the best place for CBA stuff, but I swear there is also a B bonus for Top 10 in points, goals, and possibly assists. I think there's a bit more to what CapGeek listed.

Regardless ... it's a stupid hard bonus to actually get. Mainly they just serve as a wasted cap space. If he gets one though ... no one will be complaining.

edit: or, depending on how the goal was scored, Whooshkin.

I sense potential for a Star Wars themed avatar series next season.

He said at the draft that he wants to be one of the best players in the league. I recognize the unlikelihood of his earning any of those bonuses but it's interesting to me that they went that route.

Show us what you got, kid.

Trillmike has just fallen drastically down my personal rankings for hf boards posters. You might not be picked in the 7th round mister.

On another note, I actually had no idea NHL players were paid for winning these awards. It makes sense, I've just never seen anyone mention it.

I like Drago for Nichushkin. Or Unicorn. But then again I force Toaster down everyone's throats.

Yeah. Toaster is terrible dude. There can't possibly be a story good enough to warrant nickname status.

I think Chiasson was interviewed by someone and it came to light that his first word he learned in English was toaster. Everyone on twitter had a good laugh for the rest of the night, but Zrhutch attempts to keep it going...
